One Tail at a Time

I am being extra careful with Fu Yu now that he is better and back on the training grounds with Die Feng.  He had been kept in the infirmary for one night where Die Feng slept with him so he wouldn't get scared, cause he's still a big baby like that, but he was back in my chamber the following evening with strict instructions from Die Feng to take care of him.

Actually, that was really the sanctioned version, what really happened, was that senior pushed me up against the wall and threatened every limb I possessed if I ever hurt him like that again and he also said that if I told Shifu, he would persoanlly make my life miserable from here until forever!

I know its really hard to believe because he's normally in control of himself and for the most part, he is super gentle with me, only this time, I hurt his Disciple and it doesn't matter that Fu Yu has been my best friend since birth and that I am feeling super guilty for hurting him, Die Feng is taking what he sees as his responsibilty very very seriously.

So I am being extra super cautious with Fu Yu while he is being a super brat and ordering me around like he's now a king and I am his slave.  Initially, I was alright with it, after all, it was my temper that almost killed him, but after a week of it, I am beginning to lose my temper all over again.

"You know Fu Yu.  I only have to tell my Shifu what yours did to me and both of you will sent to the base of the mountain to haul stones for a month and there is no way Die Feng is going to make my life miserable because my Shifu would never allow it." I tell him before storming out of his room having made his bed, and cleaned up the candy wrappers he stole from the kitchen which Chang Shan makes for the children of a nearby village, which is something else I can tattle on him about if he goes blabbing to Die Feng which I also inform him of.

"But you hurt me and you didn't even get punished!" he whines pathetically holding onto his head while trying his best to look injured.

"You were deemed fine after one day and I have been your slave for a whole week.  It's over Fu Yu" I tell him most sternly before snatching at my books and leaving him sulking while I head straight to the main entrance to see if any mail has arrived.

It's been almost two weeks since the Convention, but I haven't yet heard from Liwei even though I sent him a letter the moment I returned .  Im not overly worried, but I thought he would have sent a reply by now and having gone through the small pile of packages for Shifu and one for Shanhu, I can see there is nothing for me.  Still, I do wonder what Shanhu got in the mail, because sometimes his sister sends him things, like baking and small treats which he shares with all of us, and no sooner am I dumping the pile of mail outside of Shifus door and leaving Shanhus parcel on the shelf in the main hall for everyone else, I am back in the library to study.

So little information is making it onto Kunlun Mountain as to the state of the world since my talk with Shifu even though he left the mountain several times this week, but that hasn't stopped me from revising on everything I have learned about the Overlord of which there is plenty.

He was born around the same time as Shifu and at the age of 50,000 years, he was accepted as a Disciple of Kunlun Mountain where he studied under The Heavenly Father for forty thousand years before returning to the Demon Lands to marry and then take over from his father as his personal assistant until he eventually took the Mantel as Overlord on his fathers death.  Its a pretty straight forward story that follows the majority of rises to Kingship.

Except for one very defining difference.  A power struggle ensued between himself and his brothers who took exception to his obvious alliances with the Celestial Heavens which they saw as treachery and so a civil war broke out between them which then spilled out into the wider community when one of his brothers took a woman from a neighbouring village and forced her into marriage as a show of force against the Light Realms and to also force Liweis father into a confrontation with them.
