A Battle of Wills

With bated breath, I continue to read what is an explanation I have wanted for centuries.  My belly is flipping over itself and I am nervous for what I am about to learn, but with Mo Yuan still missing having gone to fetch me some loquats from Qing Qiu, I continue on without a break.

I am tired and highly irritated because I have been kept awake most of the night by the children who stayed up playing in the small room off my chamber where I have moved them.  That sprite may have been given a reprieve and allowed to remain as a Kunlun Mountain guest for now, but his incessant laughter and high pitched squealing is grating on my nerves and if it wasn't for the fact that he is baby and Xiaobais most treasured friend, I would have kicked him off the mountain by now.

Though I do punish his insolence which is getting out of hand.  The little menace dared to talk back when I gave them both the order to go to sleep only to be told to shut up!  So not only was I forced out of bed to deal with him by throwing him out in the corridors in the middle of the night crying at the top of his lungs, but so did she.  

The both of them are going to be the death of me, because I, the Master of my own damned mountain was forced to give in, so I have awoken tired and in no mood for either of them as I am about to meet with her mother having received notification that she is now well enough to collect her daughter.

This is actually a logistical nightmare, because she is still under house arrest, though has been granted visitation rights so there is a necessity for her to be escorted under guard and after what she just did to the realms, the guards will be a hefty amount which I know she will absolutely oppose, so I lay down the law and make it clear that if she wants entry to Kunlun Mountain then she is going to have to humble herself and abide by the rules.

So after a full day of organizing the guards and then the route they would have to take in order to remain out of sight of the rest of the realms who could so easily lose control of themselves if she is seen, I am then forced to deal with an angry sprite who is still holding a grudge at being tossed out in the middle of the night and a little girl who is seeking her nightly cuddle which I have to dig deep to give her, because I am exhausted beyond words.  How I manage to keep the smile on my face, I have no idea, but eventually the two of them settle into bed early having also tired themselves out. 

Now heading to the main entrance where I am informed of Zhe Zhe's arrival, I ensure the girl is kept out of sight so as not to interrupt what is looking to be as difficult a meeting as I hoped it would not be.  Zhe Zhe has arrived with fire in her belly and deep resentment in her heart as I lead her to my study to talk privately.  Already my disciples are scurrying out of the way as she storms ahead while yelling at the guards to keep their distance, which is not necessary seeing as only the one has entered the mountain with her while the rest remain waiting at the obelisk.

But the one guard is enough to put her into a foul mood which quickly escalates the moment I inform her she will not be meeting with her daughter until we have talked, which sees her slamming my study door after I barely make it across the threshold.

"I do not care to talk to you Mo Yuan. I came for my daughter, give her to me." she says under a barely veiled threat to cause mischief which I merely smile at before taking a seat at my desk and waving my hand at her to take the seat opposite.

"I will have my disciple fetch her after we have spoken." I say calmly and ignoring the sudden flash of temper when both hands land heavily on the desk directly in front of me.

"What the hell is there to talk about?  Don't think I don't know what you're planning Mo Yuan.  You can't have her!" she suddenly screams and in a split second, what control I had, is gone when my own temper explodes because like I said, I have barely slept because of those children, so I am in no mood for this womens temper either.
