CULLEN'S HOUSE Jane hears Charlie's car park up outside the house. "Good luck," Esme wishes as everybody leaves the room. Bella and Charlie walk up to the house and open the door. "Hello, Charlie. Bella,"Carlisle greets him. "Where's Jane," Charlie cuts to the chase, worried for his niece.
Carlisle motions for them to come inside. Bella and Charlie take Jane in as she sits on the couch with Edward. "Jane," Charlie calls for her, unsure if it's really her. "Hi, Uncle," she says, slowly standing from the couch. Edward watches as she wraps her uncle in a hug.
"Are you okay," he asks, hugging her back. "I've never been better. Healthy as a fucking horse," she mumbles, holding him close. "You don't turn into an animal, too, do you," he asks, chuckling. Jane smiles and shakes her head, pulling away from the hug.
"She wishes she was that awesome," Seth comments, smiling. "Hey," Jane greets her cousin, wrapping her in a tight hug. "Let's give them some privacy," Edward suggests. Him, Carlisle and Seth leave the room.
After the others leave the room, Bella and Charlie sit next to Jane on the couch. "Uh, Leah and Seth said that this... This was necessary. What does that mean," he asks. "I really think it would be better if I dont-," Jane gets cut off.
"I wanna know what happened to you. The truth," he asks of her. Jane looks pained. "I'm sorry, uncle. I.. I can't tell you," she replies in a whisper. "I think I deserve an explanation," he says. "And you do. Really. But if you really need one, I can't stay here," she tells him. "Oh, come on, Jane! No! No more going away," he exclaims. Jane's eyes flick to Bella as she provides him with a response.
"Uncle, you're just gonna have to trust.. that for whatever reason, Jane's all right. She, actually, looks more than alright. Can you live knowing that," Bella asks.
"Can I live with that? Well, I don't know, Bella. I mean, I just watched a kid I've known his entire life turn into a very large dog. And the girl I helped grow up looks like herself. But - at the same time- doesn't," he replies. Charlie had told his daughter, Bella, what happened, though she knew before him.
"Can you please just believe that I'll tell you anything that you need to know," Jane asks, fighting with herself. "And I don't need to know this," he asks, astonished by her level of secrecy. Jane shakes her head. "No. Not really, you don't," she replies. "Well... Not gonna lose you again. I can't," he whispers.
"And you won't. I pinky promise," she promises, smiling. Charlie hugs her tightly. "I missed you, Jane. So much," he whispers. "I missed you, Uncle Char Char," Jane replies, smiling.
As Jane and Charlie are hugging, Edward walks into the room with Eden and Rosalice. "Charlie. This is Eden and Rosalice," Edward introduces them. "Your niece," Charlie states, standing from the couch. Jane follows him. With wide eyes, Bella stands beside Jane. "Our daughter," Jane answers, smiling. "Right. The adoption," he mumbles.
