After Vicky had run out of the room, Joe following close behind hoping to catch her and talk this through, Sara Lin leaned a little out from underneath the desk she shoved herself and Oliver under when they heard Joe and Vicky coming closer. As she leaned out, she began rambling loudly, barely able to even understand herself with her fast paced words spilling uncontrollably out of her mouth.

As she quickly spoke, Oliver had been repeatedly attempting to interject and speak through her loud and panicked tone, until she ended up very clearly berating herself, calling herself stupid, hopeless, gullible.......

Oliver couldn't stand to hear Sara talk about herself like this, and he finally put some force behind his words, shouting, "SARA LIN, STOP IT!!!!!" pausing for a second before continuing, "Just...... Stop!! You're fine!! I-it's... All fine!!" He knew if he continued now, he would go past the point of no return with his words, and yet, he still did it, speaking up again, "You're not the dumbest person on this planet, ok?! If anyone's dumb it's my brother for not noticing you this whole time! I mean, he's a great brother! And a really good person, but honestly he can be so clueless sometimes!"

He took a quick breath, before stating, "and y-you're not dumb, Sara Lin! You're pretty smart!! You just use your intelligence for things that matter to you more! Like the Newspaper Club! I mean, clearly that's something that's important to you besides whatever reason led you there to begin with!"

Oliver paused, unsure if he should say the next thought going through his mind, afraid of a negative reaction, even more worried that he'd completely embarrass himself if she took it the wrong way. I mean, he didn't like her after all, he just wanted to help her out here. After having an entire debate with himself in his head in less than a second, he decided to go for it, knowing he could just try to brush it off if she didn't accept.

"A-and if you really want to stay... um..... W-what if... Um... Maybe I.... Uh.... Um...." He froze, all previous thoughts leaving his head in that moment, panicking, not knowing how to put his words. He couldn't even bring himself to look her in the eye in that moment, too embarrassed to see how she was reacting to his stumbling and stuttering.

Sara Lin found herself with an idea of what he was trying to say, but said nothing about it in fear of misinterpreting his intentions with his poorly-formed sentence, instead quietly speaking, almost trying to encourage him to finish his sentence, "Oliver?"

He shut his eyes tightly, fists balled, and ended up asking, talking louder than before, "whatifImaybekissedyousoyoucouldstayintheclub?" And unfortunately, while he did manage to spit out the remainder of his sentence, he had spoken too quickly for the target of his words to actually be able to understand him, leaving her confused trying to decipher the rapid speech.

The roles had completely reversed from before, Sara now the calmer of the two, listening to Oliver ramble, "sorry I shouldn't have said that I just wanted to help and I know I made things weird and I just want you to be able to stay in the club so-"

Sara cut him off, putting a hand on his shoulder, speaking softly in an attempt to comfort him, "hey, calm down, you don't have anything to be sorry about. But I couldn't understand a word you said, so can you say it again, slower?"

Oliver's heartbeat still rapidly pounding in his chest, he took a deep breath before repeating, slower this time, his face scarlet, "What if I.... maybe.... kissed you? Just so you can stay in the club?"

After processing what he had just asked, her face turned an arguably-even-darker shade of red than Oliver's. He stared at her, anxiously awaiting her answer, as she turned around and glanced at the clock to find only four minutes left until she had to quit the club forever. As she considered his offer, a quick thought flashed into her head, "so this is both starting and ending with one of us asking if we could kiss each other.... How perfect... ha..."
