Bright Chivaaree
Nervous. That was all that I have been feeling since this morning and up until this very moment which then resulted in pacing back and forth in our kitchen. I even continued to fix my tuxedo which was already fixed. Right, Win just ironed this earlier but I still flatten it with my own hands just to remove the tension away, as if it would really help out the growing anxiousness inside of me. Once more, I looked up at the clock and my heart just started pounding so much like it was on a marathon and I can feel my sweat rolling on my back and my forehead.
"You're making me dizzy," Win's voice made me pivot my body to him while he gave me a reassuring smile with a hint of concern as he started to walk to where I was sitting down.
"You okay?" He asked, slim fingers running on the locks of my hair making me smile. To further calm down, I took one of his hands in mine and squeezed it, comfortably, but he flinched and pouted. "Hurts."
"Sorry, I'm just nervous right now," I said and settled on one of the stools, while I coaxed Win to stand in between my legs so I could nuzzle on his chest.
"You should be excited. This is your Inauguration, the time that you'll take over as the Alpha."
That's true, Aegon has prepared me to take over his place ever since I was born because it was part of a tradition that had been passed on from generation to generation. I've been to a lot of physical training and last year, I did the boring stuff - documents. Being an Alpha is not just about fighting, it is also documenting and protecting the pack. We planned to have my Inauguration right after graduating from college, which is today. Truth to be told, there was a part of me that didn't really want to accept that title, responsibility, and duties that I would shoulder. No, I am truly grateful to be the next in line, it's just nerve-wracking and I know that somewhere along the way - I'd be too occupied, and won't be able to give my mate the time that he deserves. But knowing Win, I know that he would stay with me through it all and that's the only thing that had been keeping me sane.
Probably feeling that I was still tensed as ever, Win gently placed his hands on my shoulder and massaged it lightly to make me relax - and like magic, it worked. Smiling, I looked up at him and ran my eyes from his head to his foot, raising an eyebrow as I pushed him away lightly from me.
"What?" Win asked in the most confused voice that he could conjure. I looked at the tuxedo he was wearing and then I looked at mine - I gave him a pout.
"Why am I wearing white and you are wearing black? I look like a bride," he gave me a light chuckle and he ruffled my hair. Do that again, I like that!
"Stupid, this was Luna Maeve's idea remember? She sent out the invitation and specifically indicated that everyone wears a dark color except for you," he answered with a slight teasing. I rolled my eyes and puffed air through my nose to fake my annoyance which only made him chuckle even more. Yeah, I almost forgot about that part.
"You could have worn navy blue and not black, I feel like I am the bride here and we pretty sure know I am not, right my wife?"
"W-w-who is your wife?"
I love Win, I swear but sometimes he just doesn't pick up quite fast about things such as this - even sexual stuff, he's a bit behind, and yet I had learned to deal with it. In a pair, there should always be a passive one and an aggressive one - and he's definitely the first one. But he's smart and too naive at the same time, perfectly imperfect but still the only person that could make me smile and drive me into my sanity at the same time. With a gentle squeeze, I stood up and held both sides of his arm, leaned in closer before I licked his ears playfully. Win pushed me lightly with that beautiful red on his face from the shock, and I wanted to tease him more.
