jahseh massaged my head gently as i held onto him for dear life, tears threatening to spill out of my eyes. there's no way he's leaving me, not yet, not so soon, i wasn't ready for this, i can't handle it.
he sighed softly, pulling me apart by my shoulders and looking at me. "look," he said, and i looked up into his eyes only to look away right after, feeling the tears ready to fall.
dramatic, i know, but i can't help it.
i got so attached, i found a friend and love. the two things i'd been ducking for the longest time were love and attachment, because i knew they always end in pain.
and i guess i didn't learn my lesson.
he wiped the tear that fell from my face, looking away from me. "ary, i love you. you know this, you've always known it. i promise you this isn't goodbye, it's just.. a 'see you later'." he said, cupping my face in his hands gently.
i looked up at him, nodding my head, and wrapping myself around him again. "i'm gonna be all alone, all three of you are leaving." i whined softly, and he rubbed my back.
"stay on your best behavior and you'll get out in a couple weeks." he said, and i nodded reluctantly.
"i'm gonna miss you.." i said gently, pulling away from him. he tilted my chin up, placing a long, gentle kiss on my lips.
"i told you, this isn't goodbye. i wrote my number down, you can call me whenever you want. i'll never forget you, and once you get out, i'll do whatever i gotta to see you." he promised, tucking some of my hair behind my ear for me and smiling at me.
"i love you." i said gently, pecking his lips one last time.
"i love you too. i'll see you soon." he said, ruffling my hair and walking out of the cell.
and there he left me, alone again.
