Chapter 2 case 1: Basic information of the Vallies

At this time the Mathematical building is totally messy: full of undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral as well as professors gather in crowds. The police surround in here, they create a big space in order to work so no one can bother their business. This is the first time the university has faced such a shock situation in history: A professor is unconscious due to lost of blood as if he is wanna to be dead. Is this a murder? Or an assault? It looks like a terrorism in that school. Someone has made it ... still unknown. Nicole, certainly shocks, but still yelling "Grace, Grace, are you be there? Speak to me now!" while searching her cousin. Finally, she looks forward, it's Grace ... There she is ... a girl with shoulder cut wavy dark brownish black hair, yellow T-shirt combines with the cotton green mi-long dress standing to look to the crime scene while carrying her study bag. Nicole calls Grace: 

"Grace, there you are. I'm glad that you are here ...". Nicole's words then pay attention to Grace now.

"Nicole, you said that you will take course ..."

"Yeah I know, but you are so crazy so I must accompany with you."

"Oh dear, why do you think I'm crazy in this situation? Well, look around here see what happened!!" Grace replies calmly.

The crime scene is here. WHAT!!!! Police cars are near the building in the campus ... seriously writing the details and reporting through their radio of the crime scene .... Besides an ambulance is here, lots of emergency nurses and some doctor come here quickly to carry and investigate the victim. Now talking the victim, that is Mr. Vallies ... still lying on the floor. He seems to be at the age of 60. He has reddish brown hair, wearing a blue coat, white shirt with unique black tie, and his glass is ... broken. His head is fully with blood. May be he is injured. But looking carefully, the doctor in here finds a bullet with a little blood near there, while others overhear his heart beat. After investigate for a while, the doctor announces:

"Guy, it's OK. It's just a normal assault. The criminal aimed to shoot the victim's head but fail because he/she shot missed. His heart beat is normal, I think he is in coma now, but .... ". He stops for a bit and looks sorrowfully. After that, his face turns seriously. "Anyway, I need to talk to the relative of this man. Anyone?"

Dr. Thompson says: "Doctor, I think you should ask Elly next to me. She is this man's wife. She witnesses this scene first." Soon Grace and Nicole turn their eyes to look their Mathematics professor and the mysterious blonde woman.

"Well, what is her full name, sir?" The head police looks seriously.

"My name is Elly Vallies." The blonde woman replies cautiously.

"What is your occupation, Madame?"

"I am a professor of Economics in UBC."

"Oh, so how long do you know this man?"

"For 40 years I guess, I had married to him for 35 years."

"Well, what do you know about him? I mean could you give some information about your husband please?"

"His name is John Vallies. He is professor of Physics in here. He get ready to be retired now. Today is his last lesson in another class, I don't know. At 10 AM, I am promised to him to take him home ... but instead that I see this mess ...". Mrs. Vallies replies with lots of tears.

"Uh thank you to give me information, Mrs. Vallies. Don't worry I will soon find out the criminal behind this ... " The police says gently, soon the doctor says "Now it's my turn, Madame. I would like to inform you that you husband is in coma. I'm unsure how long but sad new is your husband had lost of memories. I have checked the neurons in his brain, his head. His neurons aren't normal again and his head has lost of blood, so no circulation between the body and the head, thus your husband has amnesia... "
