Exegol, 23 ABY

Palpatine had enough.

His son, the clone he had created, was a failure. He defined him; he opposed him, and the boy wasn't even Force-sensitive. Now, he was dead. Served him right. However, he had managed to hide his granddaughter. He sent Ochi and Omii to find the child, but she was nowhere to be found. One more failure was added.

The only success was the clone of Snoke that they had created. It was ugly, smelly, and rotten, but he was exactly what Palpatine needed. He was created for one reason only to seduce Ben Solo to the dark side. The emperor used him as a tool to gain access to Ben Solo's mind and slowly corrupt the young boy to the Dark Side. However, that deal could take years.

"Why don't we create one more clone?" suggested one of his nefarious scientists, who were using the old ways of the Sith to clone.

"A new clone you say," Palpatine said, his voice was raspy and half mechanized, straining as though in pain, "Another son wouldn't make a difference."

The scientists seemed excited "No, not a son, my Lord. A daughter, anyone you would wish, we know now the way," the man outlined and waited for his master to speak.

Palpatine moves were bizarre, like a technical gait, as he skipped closer, next to him were huge glass tanks that contained an odd form of life. "A daughter, another failing test," the Emperor leaned forward, pointing at the glass tanks.

The man stopped and looked at the old moldy Snoke figures that were forgotten inside the substantial glass tanks. True be told, creating the right clone took years, hard work, and no one was ever sure how the clone would end out. Palpatine had many examples through the years, himself, his son, Snoke, and more. "We could create anyone, my Lord," he repeated.

Palpatine took a moment to think; to have a backup vessel, if everything went wrong, wasn't a bad idea. The problem was, who should they create? A day later after running possibility after possibility, Palpatine figured out he could create a clone of his granddaughter. Maybe, his son was clever enough and hit the child, but who could prevent him from creating another?

"My granddaughter," he said, "can we clone the child?"

The scientist - if scientist someone would call him- nodded. "Yes, my lord. We managed to create your son; creating his daughter would be easy, barely an inconvenience."

"Good!" the Emperor said, smirking wide and evil.

At last, the clone was created. The errors of the former clones were corrected. Finally, years of hard work paid off.

"My Lord," came the voice of the scientist who was trying for two years to create the Emperor's grandchild clone, "She is here. The cloning was a success."

A hooded figure materialized and glided toward her with inexorable purpose, a dark cloak sweeping the ground. The figure practically radiated power, and something else...a cold and ravenous hunger. Such a hunger only the Emperor himself was aware of. It was her. Her face, the form. Cold and dark, wearing a Sith cloak, whole at last. His granddaughter. Older than her real age, but it was her, Palpatine could feel it.

"My Lord," the scientist spoke and presented her to the Emperor.

This seemed unrealistic, that couldn't be his granddaughter, but her power was incredible, intoxicating. The Emperor could feel it, she was not only a perfect clone, but she also had the power of the Sith in her. For the first time in years, the Emperor was satisfied with the scientist's results. "Come, my child," he said and waited for her to approach. "Your name is Dark Rey, you are Rey Palpatine, or as Rey Palpatine should be."

The figure heard the Emperor speak, but she didn't move at all. She tilted her head like a confused child who doesn't understand the language, the world, or anything. She stood there with the dark energy orbiting around her, but there was nothing else there.

"What's wrong?" Palpatine said, puzzled, looking at the scientist in disbelief.

"You see, my Lord, the previous clones had the souls of the previous entities, and they were not only fully grown in body but in mind as well. Your real granddaughter isn't dead," the creature took a step back, scared of the Emperor's reaction. "Her mind is like a newborn child; she is your granddaughter, fully grown in body, but not in mind."

The Emperor's wrath was echoed through Exegol, was he now supposed to raise a child? "Leave us!" Palpatine ordered. He gladly would slay the worthless scientist's life, but the dam creature was good at creating clones. Dark Rey was perfect; maybe she was not trained yet. But she was perfection. And Sith Lords never took young ones to train even if they were fully grown.

Yet, the mastermind of the Sith would find a way to answer this puzzle. And it wasn't long before Palpatine had found a way to have Dark Rey raised and hidden from the known Galaxy.

North Unknown Regions, Eanor, 36 ABY

Her boots echoed sound that tapped against the clear stone black, those many soulful crystals that calmed the spirit and elevated the heart. But not her heart. Her heart was cold as an iced-cold queen. The mind and the body are two things inseparable. When Palpatine created her, those two were two different things. Her body had the capability to destroy anything in her path, but her mind couldn't even understand what the word 'Hello' meant. Those were irritating times. It was like a newborn that was trapped in the body of an adult woman.

And she was trapped there for almost a year. Because it took her grandfather long enough to figure out what he would do to her, he had heard rumors from the north. A new evil was rising, stronger than the Sith themselves. But even with such a power in his grasp, he couldn't escape from the Unknown Regions. The Emperor took his time and found out that evil was orbiting around Eanor, and its master was Delkor. The galaxy was indeed a small world.

Palpatine sent a word to the ruler of Eanor: "You train my grandchild and hide her, and I'll share with you the secret of the Sith. That one secret that few knew."

Delkor accepted the gift; the Emperor's granddaughter, even a clone as a clone, was an excellent offer. And with that came one greater gift, the Emperor revealed everything he knew about the Black stone. After all, there was no Sith Lord ever that could control the ancient stone, there was no way that Delkor could. He was wrong. Delkor's darkness and mischievousness were nothing that the galaxy had ever seen. The only reason he hadn't found the Sith's Soulstone yet, was because he could not leave Eanor, and the Emperor never revealed where it was hidden.

The years passed, and Delkor was right; his decision to hide the Emperor's clone and train her was well taken. Dark Rey became the perfect trainer; she was the perfect tool, the perfect soldier, dark and cold, like a snowy night. But as the years went by, she became more than that. Delkor gave her the power to rule next to him. She could bring him valid information, and until today she never failed him.

Their relationship as master and trainer was soon changed to rulers and lovers. They completed each other and used each other to reach their goal. Delkor wants to find the Black Stone and Dark Rey to become one day Empress all over the galaxy. However, they had first to find a way to travel from Eanor. Until then, the only one who had managed to skip through space was Dark Rey, but the action was tiresome.

The only time she managed to travel through space was when she met the real Rey in Kef Bir moon of Endor, but it only lasted for a short time. She still needed more strength to appear anywhere else in the galaxy fully. It seemed that Palpatine had kept one more secret from Dark Rey and Delkor when he sent the clone to Eanor with Omii; he didn't reveal how he found the way towards the North Unknown Regions and out of it. And now, with the Sith Lord dead, they were both trapped there.

But not for long; the work of generations was complete. The great error was corrected. The day of victory was at hand. The day of the new darkness to rise was near.
