EXT. RED BASE - DAY

The Warthog is now fully operational, its headlights glowing, staring down the Reds and DOC. It emits a low, menacing hum.

SIMMONS: (Eyes wide, pointing at the Warthog) Okay, I get it. You built a remote control for the jeep into Lopez, didn't you, Sarge? That's actually pretty clever.

SARGE: (Puffs out his chest, a proud grin) Yep. But there's no way anyone could have found out how to turn it on. I hid it in a place no one would ever look. Unless... (He turns to Donut, a suspicious glare) Hey. Pretty in Pink. Were you messin' with my robot?

DONUT: (Confused, polishing his pink armor) What're you asking me for? I just delivered a chip!

GHOST: (Flatly, to Sarge) It's because you're in pink armor, dumbass. He's making a joke. A bad one.

GRIF: (To Sarge, a worried tone) So someone else controls the jeep right now? And the big gun attached to it? The one that shoots really fast?

SARGE: (Scoffs, waving a dismissive hand) Oh, get a pair, you bunch o' Barbies. Even if they figured out how to turn it on, they'd never know the set of code words to control it. Only me and my diary know that. And my diary is very secure.

GHOST: (Muttering to himself) We didn't have to know that second part, Sarge.

EXT. BLUE BASE - DAY

Cut to the blue base, with totally un-dramatic music playing softly in the background. CHURCH (as Lopez, cobalt) is pacing, looking agitated.

CHURCH: (His optical sensor flashing) There, you hear that? That incessant noise?

TUCKER: (Shrugs) Is it like a screaming, high-pitched whistling noise, followed by a series of random clicks? Because if so, no.

CHURCH: No, it's just like this constant 'beep beep beep' noise. Like a really annoying alarm clock.

TUCKER: Oh... then no, I don't hear anything. Maybe it's just in your head, Church.

CHURCH: (Turns to Tucker, frustrated) Do you eh, wait - do you actually hear a series of whistling noises followed by some random clicks? Because that sounds like a problem.

TUCKER: No, I was just tryin' to be helpful. You know, offering possibilities.

CHURCH: (Sighs) Yeah, well, you're failing. Miserably.

CABOOSE: (From his hiding spot, a distant, dreamy voice) All I hear is that voice, you know, telling us to kill all our friends before they have a chance to kill us. It's very persuasive.

CHURCH and TUCKER: (Simultaneously, staring at Caboose) ...

CABOOSE: Wait, you guys don't hear that? It's pretty loud.

CHURCH: (Rubbing his cobalt helmet) Oh man, I can't take this any more. Tucker, you're gonna have to do something, man, this beeping is going to drive me crazy. It's going to drive me absolutely insane.

Camera zooms to the Warthog, with Church's words "going to drive me crazy. drive me crazy" echoing in the background.

WARTHOG: (A deep, mechanical voice, repeating the last word heard) Drive. (The Warthog's engine roars to life, and it starts moving.)

SARGE: (Eyes wide, pointing at the Warthog) Jumpin' Jehozafats, they've cracked the code! Those dern windtalkers! They're smarter than they look!

The Warthog drives straight at DOC, who is still standing near the Reds. It hits him with a surprisingly gentle bump, and he lands in the driver's seat as it continues driving away with him, the Warthog's engine roaring.
