EXT. CANYON - DIM MOONLIGHT - NIGHT

Staticky radio noises. Camera fades in on a dim view of the moon, casting long shadows over the desolate landscape.

VOICE: (A distant, professional voice over radio, slightly muffled) Come in Blue Command, come in. This is an urgent transmission. Requesting immediate response.

Camera fades out to black, then in on a panning view to the right over Blood Gulch, the moonlight still painting the canyon in muted tones.

VOICE: (The same voice, a bit clearer now) This is Medical Officer DuFresne. I have reached Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha, do you read? Requesting a status update from local personnel.

Camera fades out to black, then in on a daylight view of the moon, slowly panning down, revealing a purple-armored figure standing on a rocky outcrop

BLUE COMMAND: (The audio equivalent of pixilated, like a broken radio, with a cheerful, almost manic tone) Yes dude, hello, can you read me, hello, check one, check two. Is this thing on? My mic is acting up, man.

DUFRESNE: (Standing on a rocky outcrop, in crisp purple armor, looking around confusedly) Say again, Blue Command. I do not read. Your transmission is heavily degraded. Please repeat.

BLUE COMMAND: (Still pixilated audio effect, a bit louder) Check two. Is this thing on? Hello, hello. Yo, I hear you, calm down dude, what's going on? Hello, yo, can you hear me, hello. This is Blue Command, your friendly neighborhood dispatcher! We're here to help!

DUFRESNE: (A sigh of exasperation, adjusting his helmet, the background music becoming more prominent) Uh, roger that, Command. Blue Command. Please boost your transmission to match communication protocol, Echo, Bravo, - (He stops, listening to the bouncy, happy music.) Is that... elevator music? Seriously?

BLUE COMMAND: (Bouncy happy music now clearly audible, almost overwhelming the voice) Oh yeah, man, sure, totally! What's goin' on? Sorry 'bout that, I was in the elevator, this thing doesn't work so well in there. What's going on, dude? Need anything? A pizza? A hug?

DUFRESNE: (Confused, looking at his radio, then back at the empty canyon) Roger tha... uh... is this Blue Command? The actual military command? Or did I dial a wrong number?

BLUE COMMAND: Oh yeah, man, sure, totally! What's goin' on? We're like, super official. We have coffee. And donuts! Ha! Get it? Donuts!

DUFRESNE: (A long pause, then a tired sigh) Hey dude. Take it easy. You called me, I didn't call you. I'm just trying to confirm my orders. And my sanity.

BLUE COMMAND: It's just what, dude? Spill it! We're here to help! No judgment!

DUFRESNE: Never mind. I'm just letting you know that I've reached Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha. I'm gonna make contact with the Blue Squad members. They requested a medic. A long time ago.
