EXT. RED BASE - DAY
GHOST, SARGE, and SIMMONS take their respective positions in the Warthog. Sarge is in the driver's seat, Simmons in the gunner, and Ghost is perched on the back.
SIMMONS: (Pumps his fist) Alright, hit it! Let's go get those Blues!
The Warthog drives off past Sheila's smoking wreckage and into the Gulch, the familiar Warthog Driving Music playing, loud and triumphant.
EXT. GULCH - DAY
Cut to CHURCH (AS LOPEZ, COBALT) standing alone in the Gulch, rubbing his head.
CHURCH: (Coughs, a strange metallic sound) What the hell? Who tried to blow me up with a grenade? (He looks down at his cobalt blue body) And why'm I coughing? I don't have lungs. I'm a ghost!
The Warthog jumps over a hill next to Church, landing with a heavy thud.
SIMMONS: (From the gunner's seat) Yeehaw! Take that, Blues!
SARGE: (Grinning, driving) Ride 'em, cowboy! We're coming for ya!
SIMMONS: (Suddenly, to Sarge) Yes! ...Hey Sarge, hold on a sec. (He jumps off the Warthog as it slows.)
Sarge stops the Warthog and gets out, looking annoyed.
SIMMONS: Did you see something weird, guys? I swear I saw something.
SARGE: (Sighs, rubbing his temples) Yes, I did. Once when I was a small child, I saw a man who claimed to be my uncle, do this thing with a garden hose that still haunts me to this day. It involved a lot of water and a very small bathing suit.
SIMMONS: Whoa, whoa, whoa, I meant did you see something weird just now, like five seconds ago. Something blue.
SARGE: Oh. Then no. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just the usual desert.
SIMMONS: Ghost? Did you see anything?
GHOST: (Flatly, from the back of the Warthog) No. Nothing but sand and rocks.
SIMMONS: (To Sarge) What was all that stuff about your uncle? That sounded... disturbing.
SARGE: (Turns away, a haunted look in his visor) I keep telling everyone he wasn't my uncle! He wasn't! He was just some guy!
SIMMONS: (Hesitantly) ... You wanna talk about it, sir? I'm a good listener.
SARGE: (Snaps) Just get back in the damn jeep, Simmons! We have Blues to kill!
EXT. GULCH - DAY
TUCKER and CABOOSE encounter LOPEZ (Church's former body, now just a robot) in the Gulch. Lopez is still running frantically.
TUCKER: (Shouting, pointing his gun) Hold it right there, hombre! (He grins) I told you throwing that grenade through the teleporter would work, Caboose. Church is gonna be so impressed.
CABOOSE: (Beaming, running up) And Sheila will love me again, and this time, for who I am, not just for my stunning good looks... but for those too.
LOPEZ: (Stops, turns, his optical sensor glowing red, speaking Spanish, his voice robotic and angry) Pinche mamónes azules. Es tán tan estúpido que como miran. (Damn these blue bastards. They really are as stupid as they look.)
Warthog music starts getting louder, from nothing, approaching rapidly.
O'MALLEY: (In Caboose's deep voice, a menacing whisper) Your soul is a cavern of lies! And your dancing is an affront!
TUCKER: (To Caboose) What the hell are you two talking about? And why is that music getting louder?
LOPEZ: (Continues in Spanish, defiant) A es ganado esta tiempo, pero su reinado repugnante va se de breve duración. (You may have won this round, but your cruel reign of tyranny will be short lived.)
