Amelia
We walked towards the location we had been given, our guns raised in front of us. We surveyed the perimeter as we approached the huge house. Dispatch had gotten a call earlier that apparently someone had heard a gun go off in the house after a kid had rung the bell. The ambulance had picked him up a little earlier and a second one was on its way.
Voight had put me on the front line along with Officer Roman, who had been the first to arrive at the scene. Jay and Adam were checking out the left side of the house from the outside, Burgess and Atwater the right side of the house whilst Upton followed behind Jay and Adam until she got to the back of the house.
The call left us all a bit confused. We weren't even sure if there really was a shooter on the inside because no one saw someone come in nor come out. Plus, the house was owned by a former Officer that was well known around town so we doubted he'd ever shoot someone just for the hell of it. So basically, we didn't know what to expect. I took the first step forward, Roman following closely behind. I carefully opened the door, without staying in front of it - just in case.
"Clear." I announced as I got a full visual of the first room in the house. I stepped inside and turned to Roman, "Check the rooms upstairs, I'll stay down here." I told him as Voight followed him upstairs.
As we dispatched, I cleared the living room, a bathroom, a staircase ( I didn't really want to go alone in the basement) and then I only had the dining room and the kitchen left. I stepped inside carefully and as I passed the island I heard Roman shout something.
"Body!" And then a loud rock song started playing - well more like blasting - through the house, making it impossible for us to hear each other.
"What the hell is that?" Jay's voice was heard through our radios.
"This is Sergeant Voight. Advise patrol to evacuate the block. Dispatch bomb squad and forensics. I'm initiating a Plan One." Voight called on all stations then flipped back onto ours. "The house is rigged. Everyone get back to the front of the house. No one comes in unless I say so. Davis, are you okay?" I was just about to answer when I turned the corner of the island and saw someone jump up.
Before I could scream, their hand made their way up to my mouth and slammed my back against the wall. I dropped my gun in the process as I groaned in pain at the impact. I looked at the man in front of me and it was definitely not the retired old man we thought it might have been.
"Tell them you're fine. No code words and then you follow me or I kill you like I killed that kid." He raised his gun up to my head and I let out a deep breathe once he freed my mouth.
"I'm fine, Sarge. Downstairs' clear, but there's a basement we might want to check out." I responded just before the man slammed his gun against the side of my head. The impact making me lose balance but he held me up and did it again, this time I lost consciousness as the pain became to much for me.
God's POV
"Alright but we're waiting on bomb squad and forensics before making a move." Voight spoke in his radio as he finally managed to shut down the music. "Davis, you can get out of the house. Roman and I will wait on them up here." The Sergeant added, waiting on a response.
After a minute or two without an answer, he spoke again, "Davis? You hear me?" He could hear her radio from downstairs, which concerned him quite a lof. "Does anyone from Intelligence copy?" He tried, thinking that maybe she dropped her radio and got out of the house.
"Yeah, Sarge. Davis is not outside, Halstead and Upton are checking out the back right now." Ruzek informed his team just as the bomb squad and forensics arrived. They sent one guy in to join Voight.
"Halstead, anything?" Voight asked in his radio, hoping for at least a little something positive.
"Blood." Was the only answer Halstead gave his boss. Upton was knelt down on the porch where a trail of very fresh blood was. Both detectives raised their guns up and waited for their Sergeant to accept their request to check it out.
"Halstead, Upton, check the kitchen out." Voight called as the bomb squad guy dismantled the last trigger. The rest of the squads were let back in and the perimeter that had been set was shortened.
Once Hailey and Jay walked inside the kitchen from the backdoor, all they saw was the rest of the trail of blood that lead to all of Amelia's equipment. Her hidden gun, her radio, her earplug, everything was on the ground right were the trail of blood started.
Jay felt his knees go weak almost letting go altogether. He had to hold himself on the island so he wouldn't fall down. The detective couldn't see, think or speak straight. He felt like he lost all sense of reality. That couldn't have happened. It felt untrue.
"Sarge, Amelia's missing." Upton called into her radio, looking at his partner with no idea on how to help him at this moment. He looked defeated, like his whole world just crashed on him.
-
"Okay, so we've got nothing on this guy." Voight concluded after our hour long conversation about who could be linked to the dead officer. "All we know is that Gregory Morton worked over at 26th."
"Maybe we start from there. See what they know," Atwater suggested to the rest of the team.
"Yeah, maybe Morton had enemies from old cases, people that strongly disagreed with his decisions." Burgess approved, adding a little more to Atwater's thought.
Halstead, on the other hand, still couldn't think straight. He was worried out of his mind and couldn't put his head on straight. It didn't help that he knew Lindsay was arriving in a couple hours.
"Alright. Upton and Ruzek, head over at 26th. Burgess and Atwater, keep searching for clues or anything else that could help us. Halstead, you go home." Voight ordered, making everyone raise their heads up in confusion at his last order.
"W-what? No, I'm not leaving." Jay stuttered, rubbing his eyes quickly before looking at his Sergeant.
"You are. You can't concentrate then you're no good here. Go home." As Voight finished his sentence, someone was buzzed upstairs and walked up.
As they stepped foot in the bullpen, everyone got up.
"You've got to be kidding me." Jay mumbled angrily.

I just read all about why Sophia Bush left the show and now I can't get it out of my mind. I can't watch the first seasons the same way.
