God's POV

Jay waited for his Sergeant's signal to go in impatiently.

"Lindsay, check out the back of the house with Upton. Adam you take the left side and Atwater the right. Burgess you stay out front. Let's go, Jay. Carefully and slowly." Voight ordered, making all of his detective nod at his command and obey.

Jay turned the doorknob and pushed the door open slowly. When nothing went off, he opened it completely and stepped in carefully, Roman following closely. Jay gestured to his Sergeant to check out this floor. Once they separated, Jay took a step on the stairs slowly.

"Chicago PD!" He announced himself as he walked up the stairs carefully.

"Jay! Help!" Amelia shouted, her voice shaking and breaking. Her sounding so vulnerable only reminded him of their time in the gang - which brought back very bad memories. He lost his concentration for a few seconds before regaining it right back when Roman said his name.

Jay kept going up, his stomach in a knot from the nervousness of not knowing what state Amelia would be in. Once they arrived upstairs, it was a one room floor that looked completely rigged. Jay gestured for her to be quiet once their eyes met and his heart dropped at the sight of her in her underwear. Roman took a look around the room, trying to see if the man they were looking for was still here.

"He left a couple hours ago." She cried out, tugging at her wrists as she tried to free herself. They noticed she had a gray tape hanging from her cheek, as if she had managed to take it half way off her mouth.

"We've got her, Sarge. Says Deaton left a couple hours ago." Roman called in his radio.

"We're going to try to come closer, alright?" Jay asked, calmly. "Do you know how he rigged the room?"

"N-no." Her breathing was quick and heavy, "But Jay, he tapped a bomb to my chest and I can't tell if it's on a trigger or a timer." She informed them, trying to calm herself but the panic was definitely taking over.

Jay's face dropped at this, he knew they had to hurry but not too much because the trigger could very much be anywhere and anything at this point. But if they took too much time and it's on a timer, then it might go off. Jay closed his eyes and sighed before opening them again. He looked over at Roman and nodded, as if letting him know that they had to step forward. They both stepped forward and instantly an opera song blasted through the speakers they hadn't even noticed. They all jumped at the sound as tears rolled down Amelia's face.

"Jay, what was that?" Erin's voice came through the radio, Jay's eyes shutting close at the sound of her voice. He lost his concentration once again as he looked back at Amelia - who held the most heartbreaking expression he had ever seen. Guilt took over him completely, Roman having to take control of the situation.

"Just music. Everything's fine." He called into the radio, then faced Amelia. "Amelia, we're gonna take a step forward, okay?"

"No, no, no. Don't. We don't know if it's on a trigger or not. I don't wanna die. I don't wanna die, Roman." She cried, shaking as much as her tied up body let her. It broke both men's heart seeing her like this. They were used to her strong and badass exterior, seeing her so vulnerable - as normal as it was in this situation- felt unusual to them.

"It's gonna be fine, Amelia. I swear. We'll figure it out." Roman reassured her, but it didn't really work. She needed Jay's reassurance. She needed him to tell her she'd be okay - deep inside, she even hoped he'd tell her they would be okay.

She nodded slowly, looking anywhere else. She escaped eye contact with Jay as much as she could. Amelia couldn't bear to see him look so guilty, it only made her feel like things were over before he even could say so. Both men took a step forward and when nothing happened, they kept going. Roman kept reassuring Amelia as Jay stepped to the left of the cage made out of green lasers. He made his way to the back to take a look at the bomb.

He squeezed his eyes shut then brought his hands to his mouth. He held back an exasperated sigh and let his hand down again. Roman looked over at Jay and waited for him to say something.

"Damn it." He mumbled under his breath, looking Roman in the eyes before talking into his radio, "Sarge, she's got a bomb taped to her back. It's on a timer, I started it when I called the number you gave me."

Roman saw Amelia paled as recognition dawned on Jay's face. Footsteps walked upstairs just as Roman finally got the music to stop. As soon as she saw Andrew, her heart stopped and fear crossed her face as she tried to free herself from the chair.

"Amelia, Amelia, listen to me." Jay's voice cooed from behind her, instantly calming her. "Don't pay attention to him, okay? Concentrate on Roman." She did as he told her, biting her lip to stop it from trembling.

"Sarge, we only have 3 minutes left." Jay told Voight, hoping Amelia wasn't concentrating on his voice. Voight called up the bomb squad to ask what they should do. They advised to get inside the perimeter set by the lasers, but no one knew if it was going to trigger something.

"We've got to try, Jay." Roman reasoned, knowing it was hard for Jay to decided what to do. Halstead nodded as they both placed their hands above the green lasers, counting down to three before letting their hands fall through it.

Breaths were held, eyes screwed shut, their whole bodies preparing for something to happen. But nothing did.

Breathing out of relief, Jay and Roman hurried to Amelia's side. Jay, with the help of the bomb squad, dismantled the bomb as Roman and Andrew untied Amelia from the chair. Halstead let out a loud sigh of relief, knowing she was finally safe. All the adrenaline started coming down on him as his eyes narrowed once his sight caught Andrew eyeing Amelia.

The sudden realization that the woman was practically naked finally came down on him as jealousy and anger overcame him. He rapidly stepped towards the other man, his jaw tightened and his fists ready to knock him out.

"Get the fuck out of here before I make you." Andrew smirked at him and turned around slowly.

"See you at the district." He left the room and went downstairs, making Jay scoff and turn back around to his team.

The paramedics took Amelia in charge, hiding her body from everyone else. Jay, Voight and Roman followed closely behind them as they got out of the house. Jay didn't say anything to Amelia, which he regretted the second they put her in the ambulance. Her face was blank, even when Erin wrapped her arms around his waist - her way of saying hello to him after all this time.
