Amelia

As soon as the sun rose, the light coming from it woke me up since the curtains weren't closed all the way. I rubbed my eyes and stretched, careful not to wake Jay up. I grabbed the shirt he was wearing last night and put it on with my underwear. I went to the bathroom and cleaned up to get ready for the day. After my shower, I put on the same shirt - finding it much more comfortable than anything else. I still had a weird feeling in my stomach, but I decided to ignore it - guessing it was most probably from something I ate that didn't sit well.

I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge. I took out the container in which I had put the chicken mixture for my sandwich. I opened it and smelled it, wanting to see if it was still good or not. All it did was make me nauseous as soon as the smell entered my nostrils. I threw it out as it disgusted me to the highest point and decided on making us a salad for diner instead. A few minutes later, Jay walked inside the kitchen and hugged me from behind. I could tell he had just gotten out of the shower because the soap smell was still quite strong and his hair was wet. I leaned into his hold, resting my head on his collar bone.

"Good morning, baby." He greeted, whispering in my ear. His hands drew circles on my hips, something that was meant to relax me but my nausea just became worse and worse as seconds flew by.

I ran to the bathroom and kneed in front of the toilet, throwing up. Jay arrived just seconds later and held my hair back, rubbing my back gently. I groaned, spitting into the toilet before I flushed it. I stayed in the same position for a few seconds, waiting to see if I felt better. Jay let go of my hair but kept rubbing my back as I calmed my breathing.

"You feeling better?" He asked and I nodded in response, slowly getting up. "What happened?" Jay wondered, getting up as well.

"I think it's the chicken. It didn't sit well with me." I told him, rinsing my mouth so I could get rid of the acid taste in my mouth.

"Are you sure it's the chicken? I mean, your stomach's been feeling weird for a while now." He said, frowning in confusion.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I must be getting my period soon because my breasts have been quite sensitive as well." I explained, which made him nod as he followed me to the kitchen. I finished up our food as he cooked us breakfast. We finished getting ready in half an hour and then drove to work.

We were greeted by our coworkers as we sat down at our desks. I sat down carefully, still a little sore from last night. Voight explained to us the case he had chosen this morning. A crew had apparently gotten their hands on dangerous weapons that we didn't know where they came from. The goal was to bust them for illegal holding of weapons. And it should be a quick bust because we knew exactly where they were and how they worked.

We all went downstairs after Voight's briefing to get ready. We put on our vests and everything else we needed. We stood in a circle, waiting for Voight to tell us our roles in this.

"Davis and Burgess, I want you both to distract the men at the entrance. You just need to draw their attention away for a few seconds, just until we can put cuffs on them. Halstead and Upton, you two will get in from behind when we tell you to - the door's going to be locked so you'll need to bust it in. Ruzek and Atwater, we're coming in from the front door along with a few officers. They have no other escape routes than those two doors. Once we're in, Davis and Burgess you come in and help with the arrests. We don't know exactly how many men we're going to catch. We think about six men, but we can never be too sure. Let's go." He called and we all turned to our cars.

Jay stopped me in my tracks and made sure my bullet proof vest was put on the right way - just like he always did. I smiled at him and we quickly kissed goodbye. I went off with Burgess as he left with Upton, who sent me a thumbs up when she got into Jay's truck. I let Kim drive us whilst I watched behind us to see if I could see the other's cars.

"You okay?" Kim asked, one hand rubbing her swollen belly.

"Yes, you?" I returned the question, looking at her.

"Yeah, can't wait to meet my little one." She told me, smiling from ear to ear.

"Can't wait to meet her either!" I exclaimed, "Aren't you supposed to be on house arrest or something? You don't have much left of your pregnancy."

"Yeah, this is actually my last day on the field. Then I'll just stay at the district until I want to just stay home." She informed me and I nodded, happy that she wouldn't be in danger anymore. We arrived in front of the old building and saw the two guards at the entrance. We got out of our car and walked up to them. They noticed us pretty quickly, probably because we were wearing bullet proof vest written POLICE on it.

"What do you want?" One of the two men asked, arms crossed against his chest. The other one had a hand on his gun, ready to take it out.

"Kim, Amelia, we're in place." Ruzek spoke in our earplugs. "We're moving in."

"We got a call in the area about a noise complaint or something?" I said, turning lightly to Kim. I started having a bad feeling about her staying in here so I added, "Could you, uh, go get that written down complaint from the car?" She frowned, not understanding because she knew damn well that there was no complaint. "Thank you." I pushed and she nodded, actually going.

"Well, we'll keep it down." The guy with the gun answered as the second one took a step forward, approaching me. I was tempted to step back but I didn't because I didn't want to come across as scared. "Thank you, o-" The noises coming from my team entering the building cut him off. I barely had time to grab my gun that he had a hold on me as the second guy pointed his gun at me. They sneaked me in from a door we did not know was even there. I tried to free myself but he only tightened his grip on me.

"Quit moving, lady." He threw me on the ground in a secluded room and I instantly smelled some type of gas that had a sweetish odor. Each of them put on masks that protected them from the smell, just as I heard my colleagues making multiple arrests from the other door. They tied me up to a pipe and hurried out of the room. I tried calling out for help, but it was no use because I felt too weak like my body was giving in. Then everything turned black.
