I sighed heavily, dramatically pushing the papers and magazines away from me on the table. I put my pen down and sighed for a second time, resting my face on the palm of my hand.
Jay chuckled, glancing up at me. "You okay?" He smiled as he looked at me acting all dramatic.
"This is taking so long." I whined, pouting while I looked at him laughing at me. "Don't laugh."
"We've only been planning this for four weekends, baby. It's normal that it's taking us so long." Jay replied, all rational and honest.
"Well, I'm kinda thinking we should just get married at city Hall." I told him, playing around with my pen.
"Is that what you want, you lazy bum?" He asked, tilting his head to the side gently grabbing my hand in his.
"I feel like the most complicated part is the legal one. So what if we go to city Hall, the both of us with our witnesses. Then, we plan a small and beautiful ceremony with just close friends and family." I suggested, taking a sip of my hot chocolate as I finally quit being dramatic.
"Okay, that actually sounds good." Jay nodded, "We still have to plan a few things but we can definitely forget about all the legal stuff that way." He agreed, smiling at me as he pulled out a few sheets to get ready to write down what needed to be written down.
Our phones rang at the same time which made us sigh at the same time. There goes our three days weekend. We looked at it and saw messages from Voight saying we caught a case. We quickly got dressed, brushed our teeth and got ready to leave. We headed directly to the district, hoping the case would be a good one.
"Look who's back!" I exclaimed, smiling as I went over to hug him. I patted his back as I pulled away and let Jay greet him before we sat at our desks so Voight could start explaining the case as well as why Antonio was here.
"I'll let Antonio explain to everyone this one." Voight spoke when he walked out of his office and he sat down on the edge of Atwater's desk.
"A while ago I ran into some money problems and Roman told me about a guy he knew who could help me." Antonio began explaining and we all turned when we heard Jay sigh.
He rolled his eyes, "Roman always has a guy for everything and it never goes well." Jay rolled his eyes and rested his back against his chair nonchalantly. Antonio, Burgess and Ruzek agreed with a nod of their heads whilst Voight gestured Antonio to continue.
"Anyway, I was hired to protect a man and uh, he was killed earlier yesterday. He was waiting for me in the car while I went inside to go get him cigarettes and someone killed him." He rubbed his eyes and continued, "After they searched his car for any clues they could find, Homicide found out he was a diamond smuggler. Can't find the wife, so if we can't find who's behind all that - they're taking my badge for protecting that guy." He worriedly told us and we nodded, understanding his nervousness.
