"I'm nervous." I told Jay, straightening my dress for the thousandth time in the last ten minutes.

"Why?" He chuckled, fixing his jacket quickly before resting his hands gently on my waist. Jay stood behind me, looking at us in the mirror just like I was doing.

"This is huge." I whine, throwing my hands up in the air as I leaned against him with my head on his chest. He let out another chuckled and I turned to face him, "Well at least for me, because it is my first time getting married." I sarcastically answered, fixing his collar and tapping his chest afterwards. He immediately stopped chuckling and sighed, tilting his head to the side in disappointment. "I'm joking." I added, smiling up at him.

"Why are you nervous, then?" He tried again, making me walk forward until he sat on the bed and I stood in front of him.

"I don't know, I just- they're making it our night and we'll have all the attention on us and-" I blabbered out and Jay interrupted me gently with a sweet kiss.

"You know what, it is our night. Because I'm only planning on having this kind of night one time - well one last time- in my life." He joked, making me smile as he rested his palms on my cheeks. Jay rubbed his thumbs on my skin soothingly, "We will be with our bestfriends and we'll have the time of our life before we become an old married couple. They know us, they won't make it awkward or too fixated on us. Don't worry, babe. They got this and so do you." Jay encouraged me and I nodded, breathing in deeply.

"Thank you," I smiled at him and wrapped my arms around his waist to hug him. He squeezed me gently, pulling me closer to him. Jay left a soft kiss on my forehead before he pulled away.

"Finish getting ready, I'll wait in the living room." He announced, leaving me on my own. I was already almost finished, all I had to do was put on my makeup setting spray and grab my purse and shoes. So I did those things before I walked up to Jay who was waiting by the front door. I stopped a few meters in front of him and took off my necklace. I took the ring off it and handed it to Jay. I put my necklace back on and looked at Jay, waiting for him to put it on my fingers.

"Give me your hand." He spoke, handing out his hand so I'd put mine in his. Once I did, he slid the ring on my ring finger, lightly massaging my hand before letting go of it. I leaned up on my tiptoes to kiss him softly before we made our way out and to Molly's.

He grabbed my hand and smiled at me as we walked up to the door. Jay opened the door for me and the second we walked in, everyone greeted us. "Congratulations!" They shouted, applauding us.

I blushed, slightly hiding my face in between my hands as Jay pulled me to his side. He kissed the top of my head quickly before being pulled away by the guys. I went over to Hailey, Kim and Natalie so I could hug them.

"Hi!" I exclaimed, as I pulled away from them and we walked to the bar. Hermann was standing on the other side, smiling widely at us as we approached him.

"Well, well, well, look who it is! My newly engaged girl!" He exclaimed, taking out a bottle from behind him and pouring me a glass. "This is Gaby's old and very very expensive champagne. It's on the house, but keep it quiet." I chuckled at him and raised my glass at him, taking a sip of he champagne.

"Oh my, Hermann this is amazing." I gasped and hid my glass from Hailey as she tried to reach for it.

"Only for my favorite soon to be Halstead." He winked at me and served us a few beers. "Have fun and tell me if you need anything." We thanked him and went straight to a table. The girls from Firehouse 51 joined us, congratulating me in the process.

We spoke for a while, sipping beers and playing around. Jay and I stole glances across the room from time to time, smiling as we spent time with our friends and enjoyed ourselves. After all, Jay was right. Our friend really did know us and knew not to make it only about us. I was extremely happy about everything at that moment. I smiled to myself, watching everyone around me enjoying their nights. I loved seeing the 21st District, Med and Firehouse 51 being gathered together and enjoying a little time off. It was a different scenery than what we were used to be in whenever we met with each other.

Will walked over to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, squeezing me gently. "How's my future sister-in-law?" He smiled, letting me go but staying by my side as he quickly winked over at Nat.

"I'm good, how's my future brother-in-law?" I smiled back at him whilst the girls engaged into a conversation between themselves.

"I'm very good, actually." He smiled, "I'm very happy for my big brother. I've seen how happy you made him these past few years and I couldn't possibly be happier that he finally got over himself to get back with you. That ring was given to him for the love of his life and I truly believe that it is you." His words brought tears to my eyes and I pouted bringing him in for a hug.

"Thank you Will. It means a lot, especially coming from you." I smiled at him and he winked, walking over to Nat. He kissed her cheek and she turned around to face him. I watched them look at each other with such adoration in their eyes that it made me smile.

"I know Halsteads are good looking, but I'm the one you're supposed to look at." Jay spoke huskily in my ear, making shivers run up my spine.

"You know, I think I'm changing lanes." I joked, looking at him from the corner of my eye.

"I always said she was too hot for you, Halstead." Ruzek joked, patting Jay on the back as he rolled his eyes and stood up. I laughed, getting up to hug the group of men who had came over to our table. "Congratulations," Adam hugged me and smiled at me before going over to Kim.

I hugged and thanked the rest of the guys for their wishes before Hermann announced on the speakers that every couple were invited to dance to a slow song Gaby had chosen especially for Jay and I. We all went over to the dance floor, most of us tripping on our own feet from the alcohol. Laughter, smiles and conversations filled the room as well as my heart.

"You look absolutely breath taking." Jay spoke, slipping his hands a little further down my back.

"Mhm, you look quite good too." I half shrugged, looking away jokingly. He squeezed my bum quickly before sliding his hands up where they belonged in public. "I love you, Jay. Thank you for being the amazing man that you are becoming for me."

"I love you more. And I wouldn't have it any other way." He smiled, slowly pressing his lips against mine, "When do you want to start planning the wedding?" Jay asked me.

"Maybe this weekend?" I questioned, wanting to know what he thought about it.

"Sounds good to me." He agreed, letting me rest my head on his chest. I felt his heart thumping against it, making me smile at the feeling of him so close to me. I felt like I was floating on cloud nine and like nothing could go wrong. Yet, living the life that I lived, I knew many things could go wrong. The only thing I could do was hope for the best.
