26- They know

I leaned against the bathroom door, watching Jay carefully taking off his shirt. He hissed a little as he raised his shoulder but he covered it up by smiling at me. Jay put it in the laundry basket before walking over to me. He looked at me with a slight smile on his face before grabbing my jaw and bringing his lips to mine. We kissed for a few seconds, my hands on his hips so I could pull him closer to me.

"I love you," He spoke as soon as we pulled away.

"I love you," I answered, smiling at him and observing his facial traits that I loved so much. His hands slid to the side of my neck as I leaned up to kiss him again, but this time much more deeper. He pulled me off the wall and helped me walk backwards to the bedroom. Jay grabbed my thighs so I could jump up and wrap my legs around his hips. He gently laid me down on the bed, staying on top of me without completely crushing me. I moaned silently against his lips, making the corner of his lips slightly curl upwards as he grabbed the hem of my shirt and helped me take it off.

Both caught up in the heat of the moment, we took the rest of our clothes off. We kept kissing passionately, only pulling away when we absolutely had to. Our bodies were burning of desire and the fact that we were touching but nothing more made it grow even more.

"You okay?" He made sure as he pulled away just enough so I could hear him.

"Yeah, you?" I smiled up at him, my fingers rubbing the skin on his neck gently.

"Yeah," He smiled back, leaning in again to rest his kiss on mine gradually deepening it. He made our naked bodies become one, not once forgetting to show me how much he loved me.

"Dammit." I mumbled, tripping on the sheets as I tried to subtly make my way to the bathroom.

"You're so clumsy." Jay chuckled from the bed and I scolded myself for waking him up. "Come back here." He waved me over and I jumped back on the bed, cuddling up against him.

"At least I tried." I shrugged, chuckling as he pulled me on top of him. I raised my eyebrows at him, "Woah, good morning mister."

"Shut up," He chuckled against my lips, kissing me deeply right off the bat. "Wanna go again?"

"Yeah," I chuckled, nodding as I kissed him. I went down to his jaw and then his neck, making my way down before going back up again. Ten minutes in and our phones started going off like crazy, completely ruining our moods. "Can you check it?" I asked him, keeping myself from moaning at the feeling of his lips on my neck. He detached his mouth from my skin and reached out to take one of our phones from the nightstand.

"We gotta get in earlier. Voight caught a case." Jay said, settling back on top of me carefully because of his shoulder. "You ready for me, baby?" I laughed at him, nodding as he smiled and finished himself off quickly.

We got ready in a hurry, still taking the time to steal a few kisses here and there. We drove together to the district, since Voight knew we had nothing to hide. We hadn't told the team yet - except Kim and Kevin who knew, but I don't think they told anyone else - we kind of agreed to just let them guess whenever. I was still wearing the ring on a necklace and I kind of liked wearing it that way. It felt safer that way to me because if we were to be working on a case, no one could take advantage of the fact that I was engaged and use it against me.

Once we were at work, I went straight to the break room to make myself some coffee. Jay followed me and Ruzek walked in with Roman. Jay and I both looked at each other in confusion, Roman never came in here when he wasn't involved in a case.

"Oh, Amelia!" Ruzek exclaimed, "We were looking for you." He slapped Roman on the back and slightly pushed him towards me.

"Yea-yeah. Uh, I was just telling Adam about a restaurant my friend is opening." Roman informed me and I nodded, raising my eyebrows as I took a sip of my coffee.

"Yeah, you know Roman, he's got a guy for everything." Ruzek chuckled and Jay nodded, laughing lightly. "Anyway, Roman had something to ask." Jay and I both glanced at each other really quickly, having an idea of where this was going.

"Yeah, I was actually wondering if you wanted to, uh, come with me to the opening night." Roman asked and Jay's hand tightened around his mug but he didn't say a word. My lips curved into a smile at his hidden jealousy and I turned back to Roman.

"As a date or as friends?" I wondered, wanting to know if I was wrong or right about it being a "they don't know that we know they know we know" thing.

"Uh, a date, I guess." Roman stumbled on his words and I caught Jay tightening his jaw and pursing his lips. I glanced around and saw almost everyone else looking at us. Roman looked unsure of himself, as if he was scared of what I would say next. I wanted to laugh at his expression or play along, but I didn't want Jay to be hurt or mad. It wasn't something to play with. Instead, I decided to do a grand reveal.

"Actually, Ro, I can't." I showed him a tight smile and he almost sighed in relief - Jay too. Ruzek smirked and so did almost everyone else who was currently looking.

"Why not?" Roman pushed and I knew that I was absolutely right, Roman would never normally push like that.

"Because I'm engaged with Jay." I responded, almost shrugging it off as I sipped on my coffee and watched everyone's jaw drop. Jay smiled widely at my response, each and every single inch of jealous that was previously resting on his beautiful face was completely gone. Bliss filled his features now.

"Excuse you?" Hailey exclaimed, standing up from her chair. Everyone else followed her to the break room, creating quite a crowd. I smiled, taking the necklace out of my shirt and showing it to them.

"I knew it! I knew something was up with that necklace!" Kevin exclaimed, hitting his fist in the air making us all laugh. The women approached me to see the ring up close as the men congratulated Jay. Roman came up to me, explaining that it was all a plan and that he didn't really want to take me on a date. I faked a hurt expression and we simply laughed it off before he congratulated us and apologized to Jay - who shrugged it off.

"Congratulations you two." Voight said from the doorsteps, almost shutting us all up. I smiled at him as Jay thanked him. He waved us all over, "Sorry to cut this short, but I think we should get to work if we want to celebrate this good news later at Molly's." He added, making us all cheer as we all went back to work with huge smiles on our faces.
