"Stop moving around so much," Jay's sleepy voice spoke up from besides me.

"I'm sorry." I whispered, ending up on my back so I could at least look at the ceiling to distract myself. I felt him move to rest on his side, facing me.

"What's on your mind?" He asked me softly, resting his hand on my stomach and rubbing his fingers on my skin.

"This case, I just," I groaned, "I don't know, it's bothering me. You know, they took way too many kids before we even were made aware of the problem. It's just horrible, what they've been doing to them. We have to find them, it's haunting me." I told him, sighing loudly. I couldn't even imagine what the parents were feeling like if I felt that way. It was simply horrible.

Jay sighed gently along with me and sat up slowly so he wouldn't give himself a headache. He took the covers off of him and threw his legs over the mattress. "Alright, wait a minute." He jumped off the bed and left the bedroom. I stayed in place, wondering where he had gone off to. "Close your eyes."

I did as he told me, waiting until I felt the mattress dip besides me to open them again. The light was opened and Jay was sitting besides me holding a medium sized white board with two markers and an eraser made for them. I furrowed my eyebrows at him, confused.

"Let's work it out." He said, getting back under the covers and handing me a marker. I smiled at him and grabbed it. "Okay, so what do we know?"

I told him everything that came to my head about the case and he wrote it all down in code words, so he'd have enough space. We spoke about theories, things we thought could be relevant. We discussed the case as best as we could and tried to find new clues without our computers or anything else. It took up a majority or our night, but I ended up falling asleep on Jay's shoulder.

That night I realized how lucky I was to have him in my life. Even though I already knew it, it hit me much harder that night. We had our ups and downs, but through all of that we just came back stronger. He was standing by my side and helping me overcome whatever fear or worry I had. He knew me in ways I didn't even know myself. He knew how to soothe me after a hard day, he knew how to make me smile, he knew how to make me laugh, he knew how to please me, he just knew me. I was insanely lucky to have this man in my life and I was even luckier to be able to call him my soon-to-be-husband. So that night, I dreamed of unicorns and rainbows and everything beautiful.

"We got a website affiliated to an IP address, maybe even more than one. Tech guys are working on getting us an address. We'll be joined by other teams, but we don't shy away. This is our city." Voight called as he got out of his office, starting off our day with a high. "Start getting ready downstairs, I'll meet you in a few seconds."

We all got up and obliged, suiting up downstairs and waiting for more orders from our Sergeants. I was glad we finally found something, but at the same time it bugged me because I was worried about what we would find there.

"Two addresses. Two teams, Halstead with Ruzek and Upton. Atwater with Burgess and Davis. I'll follow behind, but if you need me radio it. We're only a few blocks away. Tech guys is sending you all the addresses now. Get on the road and catch those soon of bitches." Voight finished, each team heading to a single car as Voight took his. Since Erin was gone, the teams were even. Jay sent me a smile and a wink, assuring me that it'll me fine. I blew him a kiss subtly, getting into Atwater's car.

"Saw that, girl." Atwater sing-sang, starting up the car. I rolled my eyes at him and Kim turned to me, smiling.

"Are you two back together?" She practically squealed as blush crept to my cheeks. "You are!" She clapped her hands happily.

"I didn't say anything!" I defended, still blushing and smiling uncontrollably.

"How'd you get her to do that? I bugged her for half an hour yesterday and she was stone cold!" Kevin whined, slamming his hands playfully on the steering wheel.

"I wasn't stone co-"

"I'm her homegirl, Kev. That's how." Kim joked as we arrived at our destination. I was surprised it was that close, but I kept my comments to myself as the adrenaline started kicking in. We were met with another team, who asked us what the plan was.

We agreed that the three of us would go in first and that they would cover our backs - especially Kim's whose stomach was slightly bigger. Even though it wasn't enough to be noticeable, I wasn't going to take any chances. She'd be the first one out if something were to happen.

With our guns pointed in front of us, we headed towards the door of the house. Kevin knocked a few times.

"Chicago PD!" He shouted instantly, knocking down the door. We cleared the whole floor as a few people from the other team cleared the upstairs. We headed directly downstairs, where we knew the kids were being kept. We got to them just as two men were trying to escape from a small basement window. Atwater and I each knocked one down as Kim went straight to a kid that was currently being filmed doing God knows what. She knocked down the camera and hugged the kid who looked extremely unhealthy.

"Stay down,"I growled at the man I was holding as he tried to escape. "You pig." I finally got the handcuffs on him and made him get up.

"I want a lawyer!" He shouted over and over again. It only took one glance at the kid for me to get extremely pissed off at him. I pushed him face first on a wall, holding him there as he screamed in pain after hitting his nose on the hard concrete wall.

"Shut the fuck up. After what we just witnessed, a lawyer is fucking useless. You'll just have to rot in hell." I spat, speaking directly into his ear before making my way back to the officer's car on scene. Atwater and I put them both into different cars as Kim brought the young boy out of the house and into the ambulance, telling him she'd see him at the hospital. As she pulled away, he held her hand - tears filling his eyes. He was scared.

"Kim, ride with him. We'll meet you there." I told her and she thanked me, hoping inside the ambulance. Kevin and I watched them drive away as the adrenaline started coming down. I leaned my back on his car, sighing deeply. "Thank God we found them."

"Yeah, that was-"

"50-21 Henry, shots fired at and from the police. We got an officer down, roll an ambulance on our location." We heard Hailey's voice on our radios. Our eyes met for a split second before we hurried into the car and drove away. After making sure backup was on scene and ready to investigate.

"50-21 Ida, we got an offender down. Roll a second ambulance to our location." Ruzek spoke a few minutes afterwards. My eyes widening as I looked at Kevin.

"Davis, Atwater, we need backup." Voight then said and I felt like my airway completely closed up.

Jay was shot.
