Sabrina won. Which was no surprise. Everyone congratulated her on being so knowledgeable. I congratulated the weird sisters for pulling off a spell so smoothly that not even the High Priest would notice. Being able to tell all the answers to Sabrina from the library? Now that is wicked.
"You sure kicked ass today. Even if you did have a little help." I say as Sabrina and I walk home. Ambrose had some business to attend to with his boys so I offered to walk Sabrina home. We used to do it all the time and I missed my best friend. "Was it that obvious?" She asked with a smile. I laugh. "Only to me."
"BOW TO ME GIRLS!" A voice bellows from behind us. We whip around to see a demon, very similar to the first. "Not again." I groan. The demon opens his robe and hundreds of crows come flying out and fly directly towards us. I grab Sabrina's hand and start sprinting through the woods. She rummages around in her bag while I maneuver us around fallen tree limbs and other debris.
"Any day now!" I yell out as we take cover under a rock formation. The birds quickly catch up to us and swarm the rocks. I cover my face as they begin to claw and scratch at my face and hair. Sabrina continues to rummage through her bag until she pulls out a small whistle.
One bird goes to snatch it, but I smack it away, causing it to claw and my hand, tearing through the skin. I screech in pain but continue to fend off the bird. Sabrina quickly blows into the whistle and it lets out the most ear shattering noise. The demon screams and fades to dust while the birds quickly fly away.
"What the heaven is going on." Sabrina asks as she tries to catch her breath. "I'm not sure, but if this keeps happening you're going to have to find a new friend to keep you safe. I'm falling apart." I joke as I hold my hand to my chest. Sabrina gasps and looks at my hand. Three long cuts across my knuckles all the way to my wrist. Not deep enough for stitches, but deeps enough to cause a loooooot of blood to come pouring out.
"Come on. Let's get you home. We need to have a talk with everyone." She says as she helps me out from under the rock formation and back to the house. Damn birds are more bad ass than I thought.
"Aunt Hilda?! Help!?" Sabrina calls out once we get to the house. She comes rushing down the stairs. "Oh my! What happened?" She asks once she sees my hand. She wraps her arm around my shoulder and leads me into the kitchen where she begins to patch me up. I thought the bird cutting me hurt, but the cleaning stuff hurt even more.
"Someone's sending demons to attack me, Aunt Hilda." Sabrina explains. "What?" She exclaims, looking up from my hand. "Someone who really doesn't want me to be Top Boy. Probably Father Blackwood, since he thinks I cheated." Sabrina explains quickly. Aunt Hilda turns her attention back to my hand as blood has started to gather on the counter.
"What? Why? What?" She asks. "Also, I have no idea what the Boil and Bubble challenge is or how to prepare for it." Sabrina asks as she throws her back down defeated. Aunt Hilda begins wrapping my hand and looks up to smile.
"Well, luckily for you, I am the Academy's never-bested, all time reigning champion bubbler. We're gonna get Freya here cleaned up, and then I'm going to give you a crash course." Aunt Hilda explains. She finished wrapping my hand and then plants a kiss on the bandage. Apparently love is the best medicine.

"You have to have your stable formulas memorized-" "There are my girls." Ambrose announces strutting into the room. Completely cutting off Aunt Hilda's lesson. Sabrina rolls her eyes and tries to catch up on notes.
"What happened in here?" Ambrose asks as he spots the left over dried blood on the counter. We were going to use some of the potions brewed to help get rid of the stain. "Just another demon attack." Sabrina says casually.
"What? Again?" Ambrose asks. Sabrina nods. "Yup. You should ask your girlfriend about it. I mean, it did almost send her to the hospital." Sabrina says calmly. Ambrose's eyes widen and he rushes around the counter to me and spots my hand.
"What happened? Tell me everything?" He asks panicking. "Not here. Let's go upstairs. Sabrina should get back to studying." I say hopping off the counter. Ambrose watches me as I climb the stairs, making sure I'm not going to pass out or anything. Once we get to our room, he slams the door shut and pulls me in for a hug.
"Are you alright?" He asks. I nod. "Sabrina was exaggerating. It's just a scratch." I tell him. He rolls his eyes. "Some scratch. I saw the blood. I swear, I'm never letting you out of my sight. The world is too scary and dangerous." He says as he pulls me in for another hug.
I'm about to argue and tell him that I'm a bad ass witch and I can handle myself, but another part of me melts in his arms. Guess I;m okay with this arrangement.

New Day. New Challenge in the quest to be Top Boy- er- Top Person. I take my spot in the pews of the church next to Ambrose. His hand is slipped around my waist and tucked into the pocket of my jeans. I swear we must be the most annoying couple. Always touching and needing to be as close to each other as possible.
I twirl the ring on my finger in anticipation. The front of the church has been converted into some kind of lab. There are potion ingredients scattered around the room with one big cauldron in the center. I look over my shoulder and the Weird Sisters hold hands in anticipation.
"Good Morning. Nicholas. Miss Spellman. For this challenge, you have to demonstrate your mastery of potion making. You will each add a material component to the cauldron. Add the wrong ingredient, with the from phraseology, and the concoction will putrefy. The first to cause rancification loses. As punishment, he or more likely, she will ingest the spoilage." Father Blackwood explains. I cringe. That's disgusting.
"Are you ready? As potion making is one of the more womanly arts, you may go first Miss Spellman." Father Blackwood says. I roll my eyes. Womanly my ass. Sabrina grabs a jar. "Molted skin of Cobra Snake in the cauldron, seethe and bake." She says as she tosses the skin in. The potion bubbles, but remains intact. Nick's turn.
"Cool it with newborn's blood. Then the brew will be firm and good." Nick says as he pours a vial into the cauldron. New born's blo- you know what? I'm not even going to question it. The potion remains stable. It's Sabrina's turn once again. I grab Ambrose's other hand and squeeze it. I say a quick pray to Satan, hoping he will help Sabrina out.
"Blind white eye of cave-born shark brought untimely form the dark." Sabrina says as she drops the eye into the cauldron. The potion sputters and bubbles for a second before completely spoiling. I sigh. Sabrina lost.
"Putrefied, I'm afraid." Father Blackwood says as he scoops up a bunch and pours it into a goblet. I watch in horror as he hands it over the Sabrina. The whole coven goes silent. Wait- that's a real rule? I thought that was some shitty remark that Blackwood made.
"Sabrina, wait." Nick starts to say. But it's too late, Sabrina brings to chalice to her lips and chugs the potion. The coven begins cheering her on as she chokes down the horrible concoction. I watch in horror as she throws down the empty goblet. The church begins cheering for her. She smiles for a second before bending over and emptying her stomach all over the ground.
The crowd goes even wilder. They all begin cheering and yelling her name. I jump up from my spot and rush over to her. Her hair may be short, but I still pull it back, making sure she doesn't get any of that nastiness in her white hair. She continues to throw up.
It's going to be one interesting night in the Spellman household.
