Freya's POV
"He's never going to find Leviathan." Dorian says as he refills my glass. "Thanks for the support and optimism." I joke as a I take a sip. Sabrina and I had searched every inch of Dorian's Gray room for any sign of Leviathan. Nick, being the gentleman he is, offered to go dumpster diving for us. How could I say no to such a chivalrous act.
"Found Leviathan's corpse." Nick whispers as he sits down next to Sabrina and I. He gently places a napkin on the counter which holds Leviathan's dead body. To be honest, I can't tell which smells worse, the dead rat or Nick. "At the very bottom of your dumpster." Nick tells Dorian as he grabs my drink and downs it.
"What good is a dead familiar anyway?" Dorian asks. Sabrina smirks and picks up the dead mouse in her hands. First of all- disgusting. She closes her eyes for a second and when she opens her hands, Leviathan squeaks and begins looking around.
"Who said Leviathan was dead?" Sabrina says with a wicked smirk. "Leviathan?" I ask quietly. He squeaks and runs over into my hands. Leviathan and I had spent quite some time together before he was, you know, inside Ambrose.
"Ambrose is okay, for now." I tell him. "But you, my little friend, are going to be the one that saves him." I say with a smile. I can't tell if he understands me, but he squeaks anyway and I take that as a good sign.
"We should get him someplace safe. There are eyes and ears all around." Nick says as he stands. "You're right." I say as I carefully tuck Leviathan into my jacket pocket, making sure he is safe and comfy. After all, he is my one shot at saving Ambrose.

Freya
"Now you stay there Leviathan. And rest up. It's a big day for you tomorrow." Sabrina says as she places Leviathan in a little cage. She places the cage on her bedside table and grabs my hand.
"Come on," She says pulling me. "This battle is far from over." She says. We walk passed the kitchen and into the little greenhouse connected to it. "Good news, Aunt Hilda, we found Leviathan." Sabrina says with a smile. Aunt Hilda looks up from the plant she's watering and smiles.
"You did? I thought he was-" "His corpse was in a dumpster behind Dorian's. But I resurrected him, and now he'll be ready to testify." Sabrina explains excitedly. "Er- sorry. What do you mean you resurrected him? What poor creature did you have to sacrifice in order to bring Leviathan back from the dead?" Aunt Hilda questions. Here we go.
"That's that amazing part Aunt Hilda, none." Sabrina says. "It's true. She just brought Leviathan back." I say leaning against a counter. "Alright, but you better brace yourself girl because everything has a price." Aunt Hilda warns.
"I think I've tapped into a different kind of magic. One that isn't based on cause and effect. It feels different." Sabrina explains. "You are racking up a cosmic debt the like of which the world's never seen. And oh, I forgot. Healing the blind!? For Satan's sake! I know you love your friend. I love her too. What is Roz going to tell everybody?" Aunt Hilda says.
"Hm? Because mortals are going to notice a little thing like that." Aunt Hilda says in an almost condescending tone. "Maybe I want them to notice." Sabrina says defiantly. "Yeah, no. Now really isn't the time Sabrina." I say trying to get her to back off. It doesn't. No surprise here.
"Maybe I want to share my new gifts with the world." She adds. "Sabrina, the most terrible things happen to witches when they reveal themselves to mortals." Hilda says. "My father revealed himself to my mother." Sabrina counters as if that's the only thing she can ever come up with in an argument.
"Slowly, over time!" Aunt Hilda huffs. "And you revealed yourself to Dr. C!" Sabrina yells. Oop. She's got you there Aunt Hilda. "Excuse me, lady! I revealed some personal information to someone I love and trust. And it's not too dissimilar to you and Harvey by the by." Aunt Hilda argues back.
"Do you hear something?" I ask to, apparently, no one. They don't hear me, they keep arguing. I swear I hear footsteps. "First things first, we save Ambrose. and then we tell Father Blackwood and the council that there is another path we can take moving forward." Sabrina says. The footsteps sound louder now. There's no way I'm imagining it.
"Do you care to hear anyone else's advice?" Aunt Hilda cries out. "I want-" Sabrina is cut off by a loud squeal. We all stop arguing and run into the kitchen. Aunt Zelda is standing in the kitchen with her back to us, doing something. I rush forward to see what the commotion is and I almost puke on the spot.
Aunt Zelda is running Leviathan through a meat grinder. Killing him instantly. "Aunt Zelda! NO!" I cry out. But it's too late. Far too late.
"Ladies, one must simply not keep a mouse in the house." Aunt Zelda says in a sickly sweet voice that sounds nothing like her. She wipes some of the blood off of her hands and onto her beautiful pink dress. "Whatever were you thinking?" She asks with a smile. I want to scream. Leviathan was our ONE CHANCE at saving Ambrose.
"It's a Caligari spell, I think." Aunt Hilda says quietly so only Sabrina and I hear. "What?" Sabrina asks. "It's an old spell that warlocks used to use on their wives when they got a bit uppity. It turns them into somnambulists." Aunt Hilda explains. "Housewife from hell." I say with a sigh.
"I think Father Blackwood must've put her under when they were on their honeymoon. Oh! He'll be controlling her with that damn music box she had." Aunt Hilda groans. "What music box?" Sabrina asks. Aunt Zelda opens a drawer and Aunt Hilda and I turn to see what she does next.
"It's in her chambers at the Academy. It's a wooden box and it's got a pin closure with gold embellishments. There's a little figurine of a woman in a green dress with red hair-" Aunt Hilda says over her shoulder. "This one?" Sabrina asks. We turn around and there it is in her arms.
"Hellhounds! How did you bring an inanimate object through time and space?" Aunt Hilda says. "I willed it so." Sabrina says with a shrug. "Look for something of Zelda's." Aunt Hilda directs as she goes to try to stop Aunt Zelda from doing whatever she's doing. Sabrina holds out the music box for me to search and I go through each drawer. It's empty except for-
"How about a framed picture of her?" I ask pulling out a small frame. "That's it! Break it!" Aunt Hilda directs. I raise the picture high and smash it down on the corner of the counter, the glass rains down in thousands of shards. We all look up at Aunt Zelda expectantly.
"Satan in Hell, what am I wearing?" Aunt Zelda says in her normal voice. She looks down in disgust at the pink dress she's wearing. "Welcome back." I tell her out of breath from the excitement of everything that just happened.

Freya
"It was torture. Being conscious while Faustus made me dance to his infernal tune." Zelda says taking a drag of her cigarette. "Are you saying you were aware the whole time?" Sabrina asks. "Every second, and yet unable to make my own choices. It's diabolical. And not in a good way." She says as she takes a big sip of her glass of gin.
"Our troubles are just beginning. I'm afraid you were right about Father Blackwood, Sabrina. As for right now, we need to think quickly. Ambrose's execution approaches, but his death is just one step in Blackwood's plan to topple the Spellmans. It's a set up. To get you to manifest your powers in front of the council." Aunt Zelda explains.
"Why does Blackwood want me to show the Council?" Sabrina asks. "So they have reason to burn you as a heretic." Aunt Zelda says sadly. "I won't stand by and watch him be executed." Sabrina says.
"We are a council of our own. The four of us. While all the eyes are on Sabrina, we could, you know." Aunt Hilda says with a smile. "Quite right. You and Freya will have to do the lion's share. In the meantime, I'm afraid I'll have to go back to the Academy and being the biddable wife, so as not to arouse Faustus's suspicions. You'll have to return the music box Sabrina." Aunt Zelda says.
"Done." With a whoosh the music box is gone. "Goddamn girl." I saw under my breath. Aunt Zelda picks up the paper bag filled with Leviathan's remains. "The things I do for this family." She mutters before storming out into the night.
Now it's time to concoct the next step of our plan.
