*LJ's POV*
I walk up the stairs. I see the room door open. I don't see Jade in the room. I also see the restroom light on. I walk towards the light. I see Jade giving herself a shot. When I saw this, I thought back to her ribs. Today that image still haunts me.
"Jade" I said
She put her needle into the container. She stuck it under the sink. She looked at me. Like if I said something wrong.
"Yeah" she said
"What... what ya doin"
"The hell LJ! Come on!" I mentally slapped myself
"Gettin ready for bed" she said with a smile
"Oh..well good night" I said
"Night" she said and sat on the bed.
*Jade's POV*
I was taking my insulin, when LJ walked in. I put my stuff away. I walked by him. I went to my bed, to get ready for bed. He asked what I was doing. I'm like uh, getting ready for bed. If I'm not mistaken, he was nervous.
"Well... good night" he said
"Night"
He was about to walk out. But I stopped him.
"Larry" I said
He turned around. I gestured him to sit on the bed with me. He walked over to the bed and sat next to me.
"What is it Larry" I asked
"Was it really necessary for us to file a divorce" he asked
"At that time... yes... because the way things were going... when you told me she was pregnant... I knew that was the line.. but now that you showed me proof that it wasn't yours... it changes everything... the gifts.. they're just bonuses in a relationship... the actual gift is sharing your life with someone you love.."
"Jade... I know what I've done was terribly wrong and hurtful... but that night when you and Kylie went home, I wanted to go.."
"Why didn't you"
"Because I had unfinish stuff, that I needed to take care of... before I live the rest of my life with the one person I love the most"
I stared down at my hands. Not knowing what to say next. I was right. Every decision I make, leads to failure. Thats exactly what's happening again. I failed at judgement. I shouldve waited, but no. I went with my heart instead of using my brain. Now it's my turn to make the mistake.
"Larry... than why did you signed the paper"
"Because you made me sign it... I told you.. ill do anything..."
That's when it hit me. He kept his word. I looked up at him. He sat there still waiting for my to answer. Looking me in the eye. Waiting for me to say something. My mind is not with me right now.
"Jade I love you... if it takes a visit to make you realize it.. than hey... because someone told me... it's best to go down fighting than not fighting at all... imagine this... if we stayed together without taking a break... we could be arguing all the time... rambling on about the same stuff... would you still stay"
"No..."
"Now that we both signed the divorce papers... now look at us... we're sitting in this room.. we pulled off a great birthday party for Kylie... we didn't argue one bit today... we were happy...like how we planned to be..."
