We finally pulled into Rapid City. I am beat from driving the last seven hours. Larry and I switched places back and forth from OKC. Since he was getting really restless, I took over. We pulled up to the center and checked in,and then went around the back to unload. LJ and Kylie were still sleeping, heck I'm running on twenty two hours of no sleep. My body is drained, I can feel it.
I backed up the trailer and started unloading the bulls. After they were put in a pin, I parked the trailer and unhooked it, then off to the hotel room.
I checked into our rooms and parked the truck. I woke up Larry and he grabbed the bags. I carried Kylie and we headed up to our room. I can barely keep my eyes open, I am that exhausted. I hope I can sleep in, could use the extra hours of sleep.
We get into the room and I placed Kylie on the bed. I took her shoes off and put her pajama pants on. I gave her a kiss on the forehead. LJ practically stripped down to his boxers and went to bed. I, on the other hand I had to pull out my pajama pants and tank top. I went to the bathroom to change. I crawled next to Kylie and went to sleep.
~ Next Day~
"dad... think you and mom can have a baby" Kylie asked
"Uh... umm... Kylie I think that's a little awkward having this kind of conversation with you"
"it's a yes or no dad... it's ok if I'm the only child..."
I smiled into the pillow. Oh Kylie, can be hilarious at times. I laid there listening to their conversations.
"How come mom didn't sleep next to you... aren't you two together" Kylie asked
"I am not sure exactly... it's up to her..."
"Oh.. should I wake her up"
"No... let mommy sleep... are you hungry"
"Yeah..."
"Let's go get breakfast while mommy catches up on some sleep... ok"
"Ok"
I felt the bed move a little and I felt a peck on the forehead. Then the door opened and softly closed. My stomach started growling too. Ugh I'm so comfortable right now. I turned the other way and closed my eyes again. I fall back to sleep in no time.
*LJ's POV*
Kylie and I took the truck and drove around. We were debating on cafe or fast food. Kylie got impatient and said "the next food place we see, we're eating there".
I smiled and kept driving, and we came up to a fast food joint. Of course it had to be McDonald's. I park the truck and got out. I am hungry as heck too. We walk in and placed our order, Kylie picked out a table while I grabbed the drinks. She picked the table that kept an eye out on the truck.
Our order number was being called and I went to go grab it. I brought it back to our table and we started eating. Kylie really loves panacakes.
"Dad" Kylie said
"Yeah"
"What do you think you couldve done better... for mom"
"Uhh.. Kylie why are talking about this.. again"
"I just want to know... I mean not every kid goes through parents being divorced"
"True...well... I wish I could've been there more... I shouldve kept my promises... be more honest... give her the life she deserves... happiness... same to you too... even if mom gave me another chance, I still have to live with that regret... there's nothing I can do to erase her tearful memories... well the tears of sadness not the tears of joy...,but yeah..."
