I Am Me When I'm With You (COMPLETED)

Kabanata 2

We're here at the rooftop, staring at the dark and mysterious sky.
When we're young, both of us love to look at the sky, doesn't matter if it's day or night.

Napakagaling talaga kung paanong nalikha ang lahat sa mundo. Mula sa pinakamaliit na hayop hanggang sa pinakamalaki. Mula sa lupa patungong tubig hanggang sa himpapawid. I always admire the creator for His wonderful works. Nakakatuwang tao ang pinakanalikha Niya sa magandang paraan. Ang kagandahang pisikal ng tao, ang katalinuhan nila, at ang kakayahang gumawa ng maraming bagay.

But the most admiring of all is His love. His love for His people that He's willing to give His life just for our sins.

"What are you thinking?" Nagulat ako ng bigla siyang magsalita.

Thirty minutes na kami dito pero ngayon lang siya nagsalita. Actually nahihiya ako. Sabagay, di naman bago yun. Mahiyain naman talaga ako. Siguro, dulot na din iyon na hindi naman talaga ako nakikisalamuha sa madami.

Hindi pa rin ako tumingin sa kanya pero alam kong nakatitig na siya ngayon.

"Love," I smiled.

"Love? What's with love?" He frowned

"I just realize that love is so powerful. We are created because of love. We live because of love. And we love others because we are loved," I look at him this time.

I don't know if what I'm seeing is right but I can see emotions in his eyes. Gentleness, admiration, and pain? Why there is pain?

Tumango siya at tumitig muli sa kalangitan. I don't know his opinion but if there is, he didn't bother to voice it out.

Katahimikan. Awkward.

Tumitig muli ako sa kalangitan.

"You know why I always look at the sky?" he asked.

"Ewan, bakit sakin mo tinatanong?" I raise my brows at him.

Actually, niloloko ko lang siya. Siya ang laging nambabara sa aming dalawa. At ako? Ako ang laging pikon. Kaya lagi siyang masaya kasi mabilis akong mainis. Di naman kasi siya ganyan na biglang tumatahimik eh. I just want this to be light.

He chuckled and look at me.

"Aba! Natututo ka na mambara huh? Anong gusto mo, asaran? I can give it to you, you know. Basta ba, huwag mo akong papaluin at kukurutin pag napikon ka na," he's now smirking at me.

I rolled my eyes but there's a small smile on my lips.

"Whatever!" I stick my tongue out on him. I know, I'm always defeated. He just chuckled at me.

"So," I look at him in the eyes. "Why? Why do you always look at the sky?"

This time, he's serious.

"To look at the stars. I'm just wondering why people always look at the moon rather than the stars. Sometimes, we're only looking at the night sky just to look how bright or big the moon is. But, we never notice the beautiful stars. Just like the moon, it also give us light in the night. Maybe it's not enough light compare to what the moon gives us, but still it also provide us what we need."

Napaisip ako. Oo nga, tumitingin lang ako sa langit para tingnan ang buwan but never minding the stars.

"Don't think too much about what I said. Ganito lang talaga ako minsan," he smile at me. "Laro tayo?"

"Ano na naman?" I raise one brow at him.

"Paunahang bumaba hanggang first floor. Ang manalo, may isang wish mula sa natalo. Just one wish, anytime pwede gamitin. And the loser can't say no. Deal?" he look happy while explaining that.

Alam kong matatalo ako kung papayag ako. Hindi ako mabilis tumakbo kumpara sa kanya. He has an active lifestyle unlike me. Pero kung matatalo ako, isang wish lang naman ang hihingin niya right? Di naman siguro yun sobrang hirap. And for sure, he won't waste his one wish today. Baka matagal pa siya bago humiling so hindi pa ako mahihirapan pag nagkataon.

"Hmm," I acted as if I'm thinking. He's cute while waiting for my answer. He looks hopeful. I smile inwardly.

"Okay. Deal!"

Right after I agree, he run fast to go down. Ugh! So unfair!

I followed him and like what I expected, he won.

"Yes! Yes! I won! Huh! I will think now the wish I will ask you." he look like he won in a lottery. He even jump that's why I can't help but to laugh at him.

Come on! It's just a wish! Why is he so happy for that? And he's so eager to get the wish that he cheat on me. Geeezz!

"You cheat," humalukipkip pa ako para magmukhang galit.

"I'm not. Nag-iisip ka pa kasi that's why you didn't hear me saying 'go'"

May sinabi ba siyang go? Really? Or I'm really pre occupied that I didn't heard it? Whatever.

"Okay okay, you won. Come on, let's watch movie"

We decided to watch horror movie. Dito naman daw sila matutulog but they will go home tomorrow morning because of his parents' work.

Grabe hindi ako matatakutin pero nandiri talaga ako ng husto sa pinanood namin. Sa tuwing mapapatingin ako kay Zane, parang wala lang naman sa kanya yung pinapanood namin. Really? Ganun ba talaga ang mga lalaki? As in, hindi ba sila nandidiri kahit minsan? Kahit kasi si Papa, ganun din. Wala pa naman akong nakakasalamuhang iba bukod sa kanila. Silang dalawa lang naman ang close kong lalaki eh.

Actually, I'm hoping that I will have friends when I got into college. Malapit na ang pasukan. I didn't have any friends in high school. Some classmates and schoolmates talk to me but I can't consider them as my friends. I want to have friend. Even one.

"Did you have a good time?" he asked.

We're now in front of my room. His room is just next to mine.

I smile at him.

"Yes. I'm happy to have and feel you again. Thank you."

"No more doubts?" nanliliit ang mga mata niya.

"No more"

"Good."

Lumapit siya sakin. I didn't bother to step away from him, though. He hold my cheeks and kiss my forehead. I just close my eyes and feel his lips. He always do that and I always feel loved whenever he do that.

Lumayo siya at ngumiti.

"Goodnight Sapphire. When you woke up, I'm still your Shane"

I sleep that night with a smile on my lips.
