Krishnaa was busy picking flowers in the forest for the temple. "Do you come here often?", a voice asked her.
"Everyday", she answered without looking as she continued picking flowers. "What about you?" she turned around to face Parth.
"Exploring the forest. And since you seem to know a lot, you can be my guide", he joked.
She smiled. "Well there isn't much here. Some foxes, hares, deer and monkeys. A panther was spotted here recently though."
"Aren't you scared?" he asked, surprised.
"Not really", she replied. "You see, I know the forest very well and it isn't really easy to escape my traps".
"Hm, I experienced it first hand", he groaned causing her to laugh.
"What is your favorite spot here"?
"Come", she grabbed his wrist and led him to a peaceful lake. They sat at the edge and dipped their feet in the cool water.
They continued to hold hands, unknowingly.
"So tell me something about yourself ?" she asked.
"Um- I am from Indraprasth", he sounded nervous.
"Really", her eyes widened. She was fascinated. She always wanted to go there. She often got a glimpse of the magnificent city when the doors opened. She wondered how good would life be over there.
"You?" he asked snapping her out of the daze.
"I live in the colony", she answered, feeling embarrassed.
"Really?"
"Hm".
She didn't blame him for being surprised. People living there were considered to be outcasts, not civil enough to be spoken to.
"You are a refugee?"
"Yes, from Panchal ".
She felt his body stiffen. He must have heard about the incident. They sat there in silence for a while.
"Oh, I completely forgot, I have to go to the temple! " she hastily picked up the flower basket.
"See you soon", saying this, she got up. As she pulled her hand out of Parth's , her ring slipped out of her finger and onto Parth's palm.
'Well, there she disappears again', he thought.
He then noticed the ring in his hand and smiled.
"Soon", he whispered under his breath.
