~ Quit Playing Games

Right after our class, I texted Cedrick na gusto ko siyang kausapin.
Ang sabi niya sa akin ay hintayin ko na lang daw siya sa bahay niya. He also told me that his last subject would end at 4:30 PM.
Pero anak ng tokneneng!
Ala-sais na at kahit anino niya ay wala pa rin!
Kung hindi lang talaga ito para kay Daniella... Tsss!
After 30 minutes, dumating na rin ang hinihintay ko.
“What took you so long? Kanina pa ako dito!” galit kong sabi sa kanya
“Relax Matt,” he said casually. “I lost track of time. Nagkayayaan kasi kami nina Yvonne at Janine.”
Parang nagpanting naman ang tenga ko sa sagot niya.
“Yvonne at Janine? Mga babae na naman!” nayayamot kong sabi
“May group project kasi kami.”
Group project? If I know better, ibang klaseng group project ‘yun.
“So, what brings you here?” tanong niya sa akin habang kumukuha ng alak sa wine cellar
Naglabas siya ng dalawang baso, sinalinan niya ang mga ito ng alak at iniabot sa akin ang isa.
“No, thank you,” I refused.
“Tsss! Why are you so cold towards me? We used to be so close,” pag-iinarte niya.
“Stop the act, Ced. I’m here to talk about Daniella.”
“What about her?” He said as he sipped his wine.
“What do you think you’re doing with her?”
He chuckled.
“Isn’t it obvious, Matt? When a guy likes a girl, nililigawan niya ito. Isn’t that the natural thing?”
“Quit playing stupid games with me, Cedrick! She’s not even your type.”
“Oohhh! Someone’s jealous here.” He smirked.
“I’m not and oh! I must have stand corrected. Wala ka nga palang specific na gusto sa babae kasi lahat naman talaga sila eh gusto mo depende sa’yong mood. Flavor of the month, ika nga,” walang kakurap-kurap na sabi ko sa kanya.
“Come on, Matt. You’re really hurting my feelings now.”
He chuckled at inubos ang shot ng tequila sa baso niya.
“I just want you to tell me the truth,” I told him. “What is it about Daniella? Why her?”
Nagsalin ulit siya ng tequila sa baso niya at ininom ito. Mataman niya akong tiningnan saka nagsalita.
“To tell you honestly, I find her very attractive and interesting at the same time. She’s different. She’s not like the other girls I’ve dated. I think she’s really a great challenge to me.
Habang sinasabi ‘yun ni Cedrick, there was this weird feeling enveloping my insides.
“Challenge? So ganun lang siya sa’yo? Isang malaking challenge lang sa’yo si Daniella? Pwede ba? Tigilan mo na siya, Ced. Huwag mo na nga siyang isali sa mga kalokohan mo.”
“What is it to you? Boyfriend ka ba niya ha?”
I didn’t answer. I couldn’t answer. Aalis na sana si Ced but I stopped him.
“Sandali,” pigil ko sa kanya.
“Okay,” sabi niya at humarap ulit siya sa akin. “Just tell me something that might change my mind about this.”
I took a deep breath.
“You said it yourself, Ced. She’s different. She’s special and,” I paused. Ano ba talaga ang dapat kong sabihin? “And I.... I think... Just leave her alone, please?”
He smirked.
“Oopps! Wrong answer.”
And he left me there feeling so pissed.
Bago ako tuluyang umalis, ininom ko na rin ang shot ng tequila na kanina pa nakahain sa akin.
Sa tipo ng pinsan ko, I think I just provoke him even more.
I just made this situation even worse.
