Tila nabingi ako sa mga ingay sa paligid ko.
“I think I’m already in love with you.”

Paulit-ulit ko na lang naririnig ang mga salitang yun...
Nakatitig lang ako kay Matt at ganun din naman siya sa akin. Isa namang ngiti ang sumilay sa aking mga labi.
“Joke time ito, ano? Ikaw ha! Muntik na akong maniwala dun. Ang galing mo rin kasing tuming eh.”
And I faked a laugh. Ewan ko ba. Iba lang talaga ang feeling ko rito.
“What if I’m serious?”
“Matt, would you cut it out? Cedrick is already too much for me to handle. ‘Wag ka nang dumagdag pa ha, please?”
Tumawa ulit ako ng pagak at nagsimulang maglakad sa kung saan.
Binilisan ko ang paglakad ko because frankly speaking, I really don’t like where this conversation is heading to.
Pero dahil siguro sa gwapo siya at mas mabilis maglakad, naabutan niya ako. He grabbed me by the wrist at ngayon ay nakatayo kami malapit sa railings ng isang soon to open na ride. Bihira rin ang tao sa parteng ito at bahagyang madilim dahil natatakpan ang lugar ng mga anino ng mga nagtataasang rides.
“I’m serious, Daniella. I really like you,” sabi pa niya with conviction in his voice. His stares are now starting to send shivers throughout my body.
“Stop it already! It’s not funny anymore,” naiirita kong sagot sa kanya.
Napahilamos ng mukha niya si Matt. My phone suddenly rings at kaagad ko itong sinagot.
“Hello?”
Hindi listed sa contacts ko ang tumatawag. Sino naman kaya ito?
“Danie, where are you right now?”
I know this voice.
“Cedrick? Is that you? Wala ako sa bahay ngayon. Bakit?”
“I am about to ask you...”
Hindi ko na narinig pa ang mga sasabihin ni Cedrick because Matt suddenly grabbed my phone and ended the call.
I looked at him in disbelief and grabbed my phone back. Napasandal na lang ako sa railings and I am starting to get upset because of his actions.
“Will you please refrain from answering his calls? Besides, we’re still on a date right now.”
I can already sense the agitation in his voice.
Bakit? Siya lang ba ngayon ang tensyonado?
“Who gave you the right to interfere with my phone calls and affairs?”
Nag-ring ulet ang phone ko. It’s Cedrick again.
“Don’t answer your phone,” mariin niyang sabi.
“Then try to stop me,” hamon ko sa kanya.
I was about to answer my phone when he suddenly grabbed me by the wrist while his other hand pulled me closer and supported my back.
It was too late when I realized what he was doing. It was too late when I realized that Matt was kissing me and all I could do was closed my eyes and dropped my phone.
I guess his lips finally found a way to stop me from answering any phone calls tonight.
