I didn't get any sleep at all last night and the worst part was I wasn't productive I was just watching a movie. I grab my pink Government textbook and turn just in time to see Taylor cheerfully skip over to me with a purpose.

"Hey skippy, what's the news?" I ask as we walk to class

"You'll never guess who I ran into last night" Taylor squealed excitedly

"You're happy so it must not have been your ex... I give up." I say chuckling

"Robin" Taylor whispered gleefully

"From fourth period?" I ask curiously

"No Robin as in crime-fighting hottie. I almost got mugged last night but he saved me, isn't that awesome?" Taylor questioned

"Wow, I've never seen anyone so happy about almost being robbed," I say kind of concerned with her lack of realization with the situation

"I'm not happy that I was almost robbed I'm happy because I got my chance to flirt with Robin," Taylor said with a sly smirk

"... Right ok" I say not really knowing how to respond to that

"I'm serious if you got to meet him you'd flirt to I mean he was so HOT and smart and mysterious," Taylor said suggestively

"I thought you weren't into nerdy guys hence-" I say before I see said person walk into the class and sit behind us, Tim Drake, I awkwardly tried to hide my face out of embarrassment from how we met

Taylor was still looking at me for an answer so I sneakily tilt my head towards Tim and thankfully she got it the first time.

"This is different they are two very different types of nerdy. One is hot and one is... also hot but weird.*tilts head to Tim* is more action figure nerd-" Taylor says before I cut her off

"You're thinking of a geek" I correct and she gives me an unamused look "but you were saying"

"and Robin is more rebel smart," Taylor says with a smirk and a suggestive smile; Out of the corner of my eye I could see Tim roll his eyes

"... What does that mean?" I ask very confused

"It means like hacker or engineering smart... you know useful smart," Taylor says rolling her as if that were obvious

"Also I totally know you like him," Taylor says taking out her sparkly pen with a smirk

"I-w-what? No I-I don't" I argue blushing

"Really then how come you blush whenever you see him or hide your face from him?" Taylor asks with a smirk

"Because... it's, complicated," I say with a sigh "can we not talk about this"

"Fine just know I've got your back I won't let any girl take him out from under you," Taylor says slyly

"Why do I even bother sometimes?" I mumble to myself but my attention was captured when I see Jessica walk in wearing long sleeves and heavy makeup but not enough to hide the bruise around her neck

"Does something seem... off, with Jessica?" I ask Taylor quietly so no one else could hear

"She seems bitchier" Taylor jokes

"Seriously"

"No why?" Taylor asks

"Nothing" I dismiss

I am sitting in my room trying to do my homework but my mind keeps wandering to the bruise around Jessica's neck. There is no way it got there by accident. Maybe it was makeup for theater? I heard the theater was doing a play over bullying, though I'm not sure she's in it.

I decide not to get too wrapped up in it and go downstairs to get a glass of water to clear my mind but as I was halfway down the steps I heard mom and dad talking with each other seriously.

"What if he knows where we are?" Mom questions worriedly

"He already does" Dad replies gravely

"What do we do?" Mom asks

"We throw him off make him think we're leaving, going somewhere else, somewhere far from here." Dad answers "Don't worry I won't let anything to either of you."

My breath hitches in my throat and I quickly cover my mouth to cover the gasp that came out and quickly ran back upstairs realizing I just walked in on a conversation I was never supposed to hear.
