Taking in the scent of the soil,
absorbing the soothing voices of the lakes,
I stand barefoot on the land
to heal it's dryness
with my heart through hands.

On this date in 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan. The kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, and resulted in loss of a lot of lifes in both the sides. The war ended with India regaining control on all the previously held teritorries hence reestablishing the state existing before the war.
