India. A land of diversity, and different cultures, and unique lifestyles. A place where everyone is different, and knows the world differently.
And yet, we are not divided.
Diverse, but unified. Contrasting cultures, in harmony. Unique, but toget...
"You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation." With this quote, I would like to wish everyone a very happy world literacy day!

Why do we celebrate World literacy day? One of the main motive is to remind people of the world the importance of literacy, World Literacy Day is observed every year on September 8.
Why is literacy important? Literacy plays a vital role in transforming students into socially engaged citizens. Being able to read and write means being able to keep up with current events, communicate effectively, and be aware of the current happenings in the world.
WORLD LITERACY DAY 2020 : The theme will highlight literacy learning in a lifelong learning perspective and therefore mainly focus on youth and adults.
The global literacy rate for all people aged 15 and above is 86.3%. The global literacy rate for all males is 90.0% and the rate for all females is 82.7%
Measures taken by government to improve literacy condition in India are: · Free education is provided in rural areas. · Schemes such as Sarva Siksha Aviyan Scheme provide free education. · Scholarships are provided to increase the interest of students.
But how can we play a role in this? I know it's hard nowadays to contribute (cause of the COVID) but many of us have full time servants at our houses. Let's try thanking them by maybe trying to teach them how to read and write.
