Hiroshima Day is observed annually on 6 August.
Hiroshima Day 2020 marks the 75th year of walking the path of the atomic bomb.

Hiroshima Day commemorates the remembrance of the bombing attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States during World War II in 1945. The bombings ended the Second World War.

The day aims to promote peace politics against the war, to raise awareness about the threat of nuclear weapons and the dangers of nuclear energy. Hiroshima Day is now a focus for anti-war and anti-nuclear discussions and demonstrations.

The nuclear bomb that was dropped in Hiroshima city of Japan was named as 'Little Boy'. On 6 August 1945 at 8.15am Japanese time, an American B-29 bomber plane called Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
The devastation was unlike anything in the history of warfare. The city was immediately flattened. Around 80,000 people were killed as a direct result of the blast, and another 35,000 were injured. Even after this devastation, Japan did not surrender.

Three days later, another nuclear bomb was dropped by the Americans on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. Shortly afterwards, on 15 August 1945, Japan finally admitted defeat and World War Two was over.

Teshima Yusuke once remarked," I shall write peace upon your wings, and you shall fly around the world so that children will no longer have to die this way."

So, let's promise ourselves that on this Hiroshima Remembrance Day that in future no country shall suffer the way Japan did.
Let's Spread peace, and stay away from nuclear war.
