No one celebrates festivals like India does. The many rituals and traditions are followed each year, keeping the age-old customs alive among all of us. Usually, the latter half of any year sees most of the festive zeal. Among which, Durga Puja remains to be the biggest of all.
Durga Puja is the main festival of Bengalis and Odias, which is celebrated all over the country with great enthusiasm.Durga Puja continues for 5 days and each day is referred by a different name.

On this day, Maa Durga is worshipped who rides on a lion and descends on the earth with her 4 children Saraswati, Laxmi, Ganesha and Kartikeya. The sixth day of Navratri officially marks the first day of the four-day festival of Durga Puja. On this day, the Ghatasthapana or the Kalashsthapana takes place.
On Shashti, Maa Durga's face is disclosed, and prior to the main puja, some special rituals such as Amontron, Bodhon and Adibash are executed. The melodies of Dhaak with jolly mood marks the arrival of Maa Durga everywhere.
Highlight of the day is the 'agomoni' programme. A set of songs in Bengali and Sanskrit are traditionally sung and performed to welcome the Goddess to her maternal home.
