The last day of Navratri, the navami tithi is dedicated to Maa Siddhidatri. She is also known as SriLakshmi Devi.
Siddhi means supernatural power/ meditative ability and dhatri means the one who gives. Therefore Siddhidhatri means the one who gives supernatural or meditational powers. According to Puranas, there are eight Siddhis: Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakambya, Ishitva and Vashitva. Lord Shiva was able to possess all these eight siddhis because of Maa Siddhidhatri therefore he is known as Adrhanareswara. In this form, Siddhidhatri removes ignorance and provides the knowledge. Maa Siddhidhatri is the mistress of all achievements and perfections.
Maa Siddhidhatri has four arms and sits on a lotus. Dressed in red clothes, Maa holds a Lotus in her lower left hand, Sankh in her upper left hand, Gadda in her lower right hand and Chakra in her upper right hand. She is surrounded by Siddhis, Rakshas, Devas, Gandharvas and Asuras who worship her. It is believed that Siddhidhatri is the supreme Goddess and she gave birth to the Trinity Of Gods.
Champa flower is considered to be Maa Siddhidhatri's favourite and is offered to her. Kheer and Panchamrit are offered to her as bhog.
