The crowd was soon silenced once he stepped out of the tent. Murphy taking that as a sign to walk towards him a smirk on his face.

"Well, well, well. Look who decided to join us."

"Dial it down and back off." I didn't bother moving from my spot only turning slightly. The crowd on my left and Murphy and Bellamy on my right.

"Or what, what are you gonna do? Hang me?" I rested my right hand on the hilt of my dagger, the small movement didn't go unnoticed by Bellamy as he inclined his head slightly.

"I was just giving the people what they wanted."

"Yeah. Yeah, that's a good idea. Why don't we do that right now?" Murphy turned to face the crowd, stepping towards them. "So who here wants to see the real murder hung up? All in favor?" He raised his hand. I folded my left arm to grab my right that was still resting on my handle, gazing at the crowd who all looked back at me for direction. All except four who raised their hands with Murphy.

"I see. So it's okay to string me up, for nothing. But when this little bitch confesses, you're just going to let her walk?" His voice was loud, and his words were directed to the crowd. But his eyes landed on me. "Cowards," the word was directed towards me, "All of you are cowards!"

"Murphy! Murphy!" Bellamy yelled stalking over, and getting Murphy's attention.

"It's over." I didn't move as I watched the exchange. Murphy took a step back, his arms swinging to the sides in defeat.

"Whatever you say, boss." Bellamy took that as a win and started to walk away back to the tent.

"You were right." Murphy directed towards me as he bent down to grab something. "And that, that was my breaking point." I couldn't do anything as Murphy crashed the large stick over Bellamy's head. Secretly wishing it had been me to have done it, but I'll let Murphy have a small victory.

"Son of a bitch!" Octavia yelled, Jasper jumping in front of her to keep her away from Murphy ending with him getting a punch to the face.

"Come on, let's get the girl." I didn't move knowing they wouldn't find her.

"What are you doing! You have to stop them! They are going to kill her!" Octavia yelled at me as I stayed where I was watching Murphy go to the tent.

"Charlotte!" He spun around before turning to the woods. "Charlotte, I know you can hear me! And when I find you, you're gonna pay!"

"Murphy! It's over. She's gone. Let it rest." I spoke up after a second of silence. His glare turned to me, his nostrils flaring as he stomped over. I stopped his pursuit with my dagger, the blade poking his throat. "It's over." I pushed a little harder getting my point across as I broke skin.

"We have a wall to build ladies and gentlemen. Get to work!" I shouted to the crowd, keeping my hand steady as the dagger remained at Murphy's throat.  Once the crowd dispersed I finally dropped the dagger from his throat and slid it back in my sheath.

"Why are you protecting her?"

"I'm not. I'm protecting you."

"The hell does that mean?"

"It's a long fall in the dark, Murphy." With that I moved away from him and towards Octavia and Bellamy. The latter unconscious and face first on the ground.

"You'd think your brother would learn not to turn his back on his enemies." That got a small smile from her as I sent her to get some water and cloth. Getting Jasper and a few other teen boys to help me out in flipping him over.
