I could hear chants, shouts, jeers. The screaming and roaring louder and louder as I was being led towards it.
I opened my eyes and I was in a black tunnel. The noise outside deafening as I stood there waiting for my gate to open.
Light flooded in, my gate was opened. I strode out of my gate, taking my time as I watched others running to the center to grab their weapons. Once I stepped out into the arena, the entire audience roared and cheered. The sound catching the other teens' eyes.
I wore a smirk, my eyes dark as I scanned the competition. Trying to remember what they were in for.
Tall brunette, with the huge build, in for assault of a guard.
Small, skinny, blonde who held a hammer, murder.
Dark raven haired girl holding a sickle, in for assault and murder.
My eyes widened as I saw the fourth opponent holding a sword. She couldn't have been over thirteen. Her light brown hair hid her eyes as she calculated everyone's movements. She was the last competitor, in for killing her parents and her best friend.
I heard metal clank from behind me and spun around to catch the sword that was thrown towards me. The blade sharp as I ran my left hand over it, using the blood to trace over the scar on my left cheek, then doing a crescent moon around my right.
The action made the crowd roar even louder.
"Bloodmoon!"
"Bloodmoon!"
My arena name was chanted as I swaggered closer to the other competitors, grabbing the last weapon on the ground. A dagger.
I held the dagger in my hands, a sense of familiarity as I eyed it. I wasn't sure where I knew it from. I had probably used it in the arena before.
"The last one standing, wins!" The announcer shouted, a small horn following close after he finished speaking.
The four other competitors looked at each other then back at me. A silent agreement amongst them. They charged. The raven haired girl was the first to reach me. I used the dagger to block her descent with her sickle, kicking her out of the way so I could face the skinny blonde and her hammer.
I slid sideways as she swung down. Bringing my sword up and slicing along her side using her momentum against her then kicking her too out of the way. The next to attack was the large brunette. He now wielded an axe that seemed tiny in his hands as he ran at me. I met him in the middle, sliding passed him and slicing his Achilles' tendons with the dagger in my left hand, making him crash to the floor.
The blonde was back as was the sickle girl. Both coming at me from either side. I switched the sword to my left and the dagger to my right to better match the longer range of the sickle and the shorter range of the hammer.
I ducked to my knees as the raven haired girl swung the sickle for my head, my sword finding connection in her abdomen as I stood back up and pushed making her fall.
The blonde was about to make a move but I beat her by throwing the dagger into her throat. An image flashing before my eyes of green and a person dressed in what looked like furs and held a bow, the same dagger spiraling towards them.
I snapped out of it walking over to the blonde and yanking my dagger from her throat before going to finished the raven haired girl off. I kicked her sickle aside and grabbed her hair, placing my dagger to her throat. She looked up into my eyes and before I slit her throat whispered to me.
"Ai gonplei ste odon." I blinked, an image playing in my mind of another person dressed in furs this one a female and had black paint over her face. Her mouth saying the same words as I slit her throat.
