I made my way to the dropship after I heard Raven cry out.
"If Murphy hit the fuel tank instead of me, we'd all be dead." Raven groaned as I made my way to stand beside Bellamy.
"Wait there's rocket fuel down there?" Clarke asked. "Enough to build a bomb?"
"Enough to build a 100 bombs. If we had any gunpowder left." Just our luck.
"Let's get back to the reapers." Bellamy drew my attention to a page in Lincoln's notebook. It was a very intricate drawing of a man who almost seemed to have snake skin on his face. "Maybe they'll help us. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right?" I looked at the photo.
"I'd rather try to make peace with the grounders again. They actually don't look like they want to eat my bones for calcium." I looked over to Clarke who was about to speak up.
"Not this enemy. We saw them, trust me, it's not an option." I looked to Raven and gave her a smile.
"How's it hanging?" She rolled her eyes.
"There's no time for this." Finn interrupted, "can she walk or not?" We all four looked to Clarke as she looked at Raven's side.
"No. We have to carry her."
"The hell you will. I'm good to go." Raven tried to sit up but I was ready. I stepped in front of Bellamy and pushed gently down on her shoulders. Focusing on Raven and not the intense body heat nor close proximity of Bellamy as he didn't move backwards to give me more space.
"Hey, listen to me. That bullet is still inside you." Not good. "If by some miracle there is no internal bleeding then it might hold until we get somewhere safe." We are somewhere safe.
"But you are not walking there. Is that clear?" I watched the zero-g mechanic frown, but nod.
"I'll get the stretcher." Finn said beginning to walk away quickly.
"Can't run away fast enough, huh? Real brave." Bellamy spoke up from behind me, startling me and reminding me the position we were in. I slid from in front of him and back to the left side of him.
"Dying in a fight you can't win, isn't brave, Bellamy, it's stupid." I rolled my eyes. These two were clashing way more than before.
"Spoken like every coward who has ever run from a fight." Bellamy got closer to Finn.
"Enough. Both of you. Bellamy, back off. Finn go grab the stretcher. Clarke, go back your things. You guys need to leave soon if you have any hope of beating the scouts." Clarke and Finn shared a look before the latter left leaving me with a surprised Clarke.
"How do you know what Lincoln warned us about?" I looked at her confused.
"I don't, but I've studied enough battle and wars that I know they always start with scouts." Clarke nodded taking my reason.
"If they follow? It's a 120-mile walk to the ocean."
"Look, we're wasting time." That's what I've been trying to tell you. "If he wants to stay, he can stay." And Finn walked away. Not like we needed his permission or anything.
"No he can't." Clarke called out as Finn exited the dropship.
"We can't do this without you, Bellamy." She was now standing directly in front of Bellamy as I awkwardly stood of to the side.
"What do you want me to say, Clarke?"
"I want you to say that you're with us." She gestured over to me and back to her. Bellamy followed it and we shared a small look.
"Clarke," I stepped forward, "I'm not going either." Her face fell even more. "This is the first place I felt ever at home, I can't just leave that." She pursed her lips looking between the two of us.
"Those kids out there, listen to both of you." Clarke tried again.
"They're lining up to go. They listen to you more." Bellamy nodded his head in the direction of the teens outside.
"I gave them an easy choice. But 5 minutes ago, they were willing to fight and die for you. Both of you." I remembered the crowd after I had told the story of the Greek Hero Achilles. She was right. But I had to stay here, or they would be followed away with the scouts. "You inspire them." I remained quiet, running through a quick plan.
"Bellamy," I turned to him, "you should go. You need to go. If I stay here I can keep the scouts occupied so y'all can make your escape to the ocean."
