Chapter 37: Fire

    Weeks had been quiet for Raixelle. She didn't know if it was a good sign or a preparation for her to something eventful that might occur. It was her presumptions that slowly eating her sanity because she knows Mr. Narong had plenty things under his sleeves. Hindi niya kayang sisihin si Euan sa pagsabi nito ng balak niya sa ama. Siya ang may kakulangan dahil hindi niya sinabi ang lahat sa binata.

“Is it destiny? After so many years, nagkita uli kayo!" hindi mapigilan ni Wendy na kiligin sa rebelasyong narinig niya rito. Kasama si Euan ay sabay nilang sinabi ang natuklasan din nila. They were surprised that they actually knew each other long time ago.

She was battling between what's more shocking—to hear that Euan was the long lost childhood kid a decade ago or to hear from him that his Dad already knew about all she's been up to.

“Who knows, they might end up together. Faith must have been working on them since at the beginning." tugon naman ni Luice.

“Oo nga naman. Wag mo ng patagalin Rai. Sagutin mo na si Euan." ngisi naman ni Priston habang nakaakbay kay Luice.

“Don't pressure her Pris. Baka umiba ang ihip ng hangin at biglang umatras." Monti wrapped his arm around Wendy's waist.

“On-going palang ang buhay ko, nasa ending na agad kayo!" They are still pushing them together. Ayaw naman niyang magsalita ng tapos baka pagsisihan din niya sa huli.

“Enough of this topic guys. Hayaan nyo na akong dumiskarte, mapapasagot ko rin ‘to." nakatanggap naman siya ng hampas sa dalaga.

“Isa ka pa e."

“What? malapit na nga akong umalis tapos mananakit ka pa."

Natigilan ito. “You're leaving?!"

“Yeah, this weekend. Two days lang ako. I feel the need of talking my brother. He has the right to know everything in spite of my father's assistance."

“Oy anong everything yan? Kayo ahh... may tinatago kayo ng hindi namin nalalaman." Wendy teased.

“Wala! Umaandar na naman 'yang pagkamalisyosa mo." sagot niya.

“Time na pala. We should go back to our class now.” si Luice na nakatingin sakaniyang wrist watch.

      The sun was beaming hot today. She had emptied the bottle that she was holding through out the day but then her throat was still dry. Tagging along with Euan, they have decided to stop by on the nearest convenience store.

Euan insist to pay for the food they bought but she didn't want to get advantage of him. Ayaw niyang isipin na may iba itong kahulugan.

“May pera naman ako.”

“Can we not argue about this. I won't let you though." she just rolled her eyes and let his heart at its content.

“Alam ba ng dad mo na pupunta ka sa thailand?” panimula niya.

Umiling ito. “I don't need to get his consent just to talk to my brother." he said. “Kung hindi niya kayang sagutin ang mga tawag natin. Then I will go straight to him."

“Do you know where exactly he was right now?"

“I know his condo and I had been there twice or more. Minsan tumatambay siya sa bahay ni Glenn. Bihira naman niyang bisitahin ang bahay namin doon. Kung wala siya sa mga nabanggit ko, hahanapin ko pa rin siya kung nasaang lupalop man siya."

“But you have to be careful. Baka ikaw naman ang puntiryahin nila. Mas magandang isama mo si Kuya Dereck para may proteksyon ka."

“No. He will stay with you. What if someone wants to kidnapped you again or do something bad about you... I won't forgive myself if that happens.” he held her hand. “Mag-iingat ako pangako. At babalik ako rito ng buo at walang galos. That's a promise."
