Tiesha’s wedding was in two days.
According to Ky’Mon, “Lil mama, we having a thug wedding.”
She still had no idea what a “thug wedding” actually meant.
They’d already done the court ceremony about a week ago — no frilly white dress, no flowers, no grand aisle.
Just paperwork, signatures, and a low-key moment. That was how she wanted it. Tiesha hadn’t even wanted a wedding at all, but Ky’Mon had been determined to have not one but two ceremonies.
Legally, she was already Mrs. Bells. But Ky’Mon refused to acknowledge it as real until they’d had this so-called thug wedding.
Koko had taken control of her dress and the bridesmaids. And, with a quiet little smirk, Tiesha had gone ahead and invited the twins.
Yeah — the twins.
That wasn’t an accident. She wanted Heaven to see, plain and clear, that she would never have Ky’Mon. If that made her a bitch, she truly didn’t give two fucks.
“Bae, you’re gonna love your dress. It’s out of this world,” Koko announced, grinning like she had just invented fashion itself.
Tiesha winced. When Koko used that particular tone, it usually meant trouble.
“And the bridesmaids are putting on swimsuit gowns,” Koko added, as if that was a perfectly normal sentence.
“What the fuck is that, Koko?” Tiesha frowned, already regretting giving her best friend this much power.
“You’ll see. So, your husband said I shouldn’t bother with the food and drinks — he’s got that covered. Venue?”
“His underground trap,” Tiesha replied, eyes fixed on the TV as SpongeBob pestered Squidward on-screen.
Koko held up two pairs of heels in her face. “So, which heels do you prefer?”
“Anyone,” Tiesha said dismissively, brushing her off.
Koko sighed and dropped them. “You don’t want this wedding, do you?”
“I don’t want any wedding at all,” Tiesha admitted, finally looking at her.
“Why?” Koko frowned, genuinely confused.
“Have you noticed that whenever a big wedding party is thrown, the couple usually ends up divorcing after a few years?”
“So?”
“So, I feel like Ky’Mon and I won’t last forever with all these loud weddings. Remember the court wedding? It was on the news for more than a week.”
“Girl, you’re spilling bullshit. Don’t stereotype with the goddamn weddings you’ve attended. So what if they divorce after a few years? I know you and Ky’Mon won’t. He loves you and you love him.”
“Yes, but problems w—”
“And you gon’ solve the problems together,” Koko interrupted, taking her hands.
