She gets real quiet and studies my staples. "It's looking good Levi."
"That's good to know." I shrug.
"This healing process depends on you. If you let me overwork you then you could be getting back to normal sooner but if we barely get these stretches in then it could take 6-8 weeks." She said.
"Screw that. Work me however you want." I said. Shit did I say that out loud?
She laughed. "Sounds like a good plan Levi."
She pulled my jogging pants back up and smiled. "But you need to get that doctored."
"I'll get Gray to this evening. I mean he is a firefighter and EMT." I laugh.
"Oh is he? Well, he should be able to clean it for you." She smiled.
"I sure hope so. Otherwise, he's in the wrong business." I said.
She helped me off the bed and took me to a machine to work my legs and hip and that hurt but I toughed it out.
She helped me back up on the table and did a little more stretching on my legs. That right leg makes me want to cuss like a sailor.
"I know it's really hurting Levi but I can see progress already." She said as she runs her fingers up my leg.
I'm praying that my boy stays down because that would be embarrassing but hey it's been a while.
"Alright, I think your good to go today. Take this with you and when you can do these exercises at home." She said.
"Thanks, I'll do what I can. Thanks for all of your help Avah I appreciate it." I said folding the paper up and slipping it into my back pocket.
"Let me help you out. Maybe your brother is here today for you." She giggled.
That giggle was like music to my ears. I turned and looked at her and smiled. "Hopefully he is. He owes me for yesterday."
She helps me outside and there he is sitting in the parking lot. Gray jumps out and walks around opening the door. "Looks like my brother gets special treatment." He said.
"Well, we want to get him better soon. He's losing money you know." She laughed.
"Haha, you two. Time is money and umm Gray she said you need to doctor my wound." I smile.
"Great just what I want to do. Can't I just sit and eat cookies all day?" He laughed.
"Probably not fire boy." I laugh and look at Avah she has a smirk on her face but rolls her eyes. "Cya on Friday Levi!" She turns and walks off.
I can't help but watch her walk back into the building then turn to look at Gray.
"I think my brother has a crush. Maybe we should bring Violet because she might get you the girl. She did me." Gray laughs.
"Shut up, will you! Don't tell Violet anything Gray." I said.
"Fine I won't but that doesn't mean I didn't mention it to Remi." He smirks.
"You didn't! Gray, what the fuck? She's just my therapist."
"I know Levi! I just asked Remi to make some cookies for her," he said.
"That's fine I can take her cookies and get Remi business but that's it," I said as we pulled in at the house.
Once Gray helped me into the house and in the bed, I decided I would take a nap until Violet came home. I tossed and wanted to turn but couldn't. I was miserable.
I slept for a few hours when Gray brought Violet over and helped me up to the living room and brought me some food from Remi and took some pain meds.
"How was school Munchkin?" I asked.
"It was fine I have some homework and then I'm going to cook dinner with Aunt Remi." She said.
"Ok sounds good. Behave and listen to what they tell you ok?"
"Yes, daddy I will." She said putting her book in her backpack and leaving with Gray.
I feel like I don't get to spend any time with her but Remi is good for her and I know she craves that female attention.
I make myself get up and try to get a shower. It took me forever to even step over into the shower. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. I'm so slow and careful.
I got everything done and got my good leg out of the shower and for some reason my hip is locked and I can't get my other leg out of the shower. I lean forward and grab my phone.
📞Gray, I have a situation will you come over, please?
📞Be right there.
📞Come alone, please.
📞Alright.
"Levi where are you?" Gray called out.
"Bathroom," I said.
Gray opened the door. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know but my hip is locked and I can't move. I don't know what to do." I said.
"Do you have a number for Avah? We can ask." He said.
"Why not ask Josh or Pete?" I ask.
"Because they aren't your therapist and we don't want to make things worse. Let me call and ask.
"Fine, I'll stand here." I could hear Gray on the phone and I could hear him giving my address what the fuck is going on?
"Listen don't be mad but Avah is on her way over. She needs to see what is going on with your hip." He said scratching his head.
"Oh yeah, Gray let her in while my dick is out. Can you at least grab me a towel?" I said.
"Sure I can do that. Try to stand still while I go out and wait for Avah." He said.
I run my hand through my wet hair and stand here like an idiot with a towel wrapped around me. Great going, Levi. What a mess I have gotten myself in. On the bright side, I get to see that cute girl again.
