It was nice to get outside and sit on the porch with Jody, Jay, and Avah.
Violet runs up to the porch and asks Avah to play frisbee with her and before I could say no Avah jumped up and went to play.
"So Levi how are you feeling?" Jody asks.
"Sorry but slowly making it. I'll be glad when this gets better. How about you Jody?" I ask.
"I'm feeling ok today and I really appreciate you letting Violet stay with us last night we had a blast." She smiled.
"I'm surprised she stayed. She doesn't normally take to people like she has you guys." I said.
"Oh, she had us laughing and eating junk food." Jay laughed before going to join the frisbee fun.
"I don't let Jay eat all that junk food so Violet was his excuse." She laughed.
"I appreciate you keeping her. It gave Avah and I some alone time to talk." I said.
"I see the way you look at her. You really like her don't you Levi?" She asked.
"I really do. She's easy to like and want to be around." I smile as I watch Violet fall in the sand laughing.
"My daughter really likes her too and that makes me like her even more" I smile.
"That's very important you know. Avah is a good girl always have been and I'm proud that she is my daughter."
"My Violet is a good girl too. She makes me proud. She's a strong little girl to not have a mom." I said.
"And you are a great father. She's very polite and well mannered." Jody smiles.
"Thank you I appreciate that. But I can't take all the credit. Gray and Remi have helped me with so much." I said.
"Levi, can you promise me something?" She said turning to me.
"What are you wanting me to promise?"
"If something happens to me that you will take care of my Avah." She tears up.
I reach over and squeeze her hand. "I promise I will take care of her. I know we haven't known each other long but I really care for her." I said.
Avah walks up and sees me holding her mom's hand and she smiles. "Violet wears me out. Now she and dad are looking for shells." She smiles.
"She likes to collect shells. Her room is full." I laugh.
Gray, Remi, and the kids walk up and when Ruthie saw Jody she ran to her and sits on her lap, and wrapped her arms around her neck.
I look at Avah and see she's trying to blink back tears when Sierrah walks up and tells Avah she loves her curls.
I watch everyone interact and see how well Avah and her family fit in with mine. Is it crazy to already have fallen in love with her?
I can't tell her and scare her away just yet. I'll keep that secret for now.
"Let plan a big bbq next weekend here on the beach and invite my parents and Gray and Levi's and just make a day of it," Remi said.
"That sounds good dear. Hopefully, I'll feel like coming." Jody said.
"I'll get it all planned up," Remi said.
"Remi if you need help let me know we can exchange numbers," Avah said.
"Sounds good! I'm excited." Remi laughed.
"Yeah what Remi said." Gray laughed.
They gathered up the kids and left and Jody was getting tired so they left as well. Avah helped Violet get her seashells in the house and washed them off while I sit at the island on a bar stool.
I watched them interact and just smiled. "Daddy can we order pizza I'm hungry," Violet said.
"Sure munchkin I'll get it ordered. You head on upstairs and get your shower ok?" I said.
"Ok daddy but can Avah wash my hair?" She asked.
"If Avah wants to munchkin," I said.
"Of course let's go before the pizza gets here." Avah's said following Violet up the steps.
Man, she's already stolen my heart and I don't know when to tell her. I manage to get up and go to the bathroom before walking back to the living room and sit down on the couch.
Avah walks down smiling and comes over beside me sits down and kisses me. "Guess the pizza will be here soon?"
"Yeah, I would say not long. Violet do ok with you washing her hair? she usually throws a fit on me." I laugh.
"I'm a girl Levi I know how to wash hair and not pull." She laughs.
"Ahh, so that's the trick huh?" I laugh
"Yes, and you have the wrong part thank god." She giggles and pulls me in for a kiss when the doorbell rings.
"The money is on the counter Avah," I said as she got up to go to the door.
I heard her thank the guy and laugh before shutting the door. I turn around and she's still laughing." Sorry, he tripped on the steps.
I chuckle as Violet walks down in a cute PJ set with cats on it. "Where did you get that munchkin?" I asked.
"Aunt Remi got it for me and I forgot about it until Avah saw it." She smiled and walked to the kitchen to help Avah.
"After we eat I'll fix your hair for you, "Avah said carrying the pizza box over.
We sit down to eat pizza and watch some tv together. It feels like a real family. I look over at Avah and wink.
She smiles at me and bites into her pizza. Which causes me to chuckle. After we eat Violet sit between Avahs legs and let her braid her hair and then she took her upstairs and tucked her in for me.
I made it to the bathroom and sit down on the bed when Avah walked back into the room. "Now do I need to tuck you in?" She giggled.
"I'd like to put something in you," I whispered.
"Now that I can do." She said leaning down kissing me.
