I'm anxious to find out what happened with Avah today. Remi brought over some enchiladas and all I have to do is warm them up but Violet is helping with that as Avah walks in the door.
"What smells so good in here?" She smiles.
"Aunt Remi made enchiladas for us," Violet said.
"Well that was very nice of her wasn't it?" Avah smiled.
She walked over to where I was and leaned down and pecked my lips. "I missed you," I said.
"I missed both of you. Let me go change my clothes and I'll be back." She said.
I watched her walk off and she seemed ok so I'm sure we will talk later. It wasn't long she came back into the kitchen with a pair of leggings on and a long t-shirt.
Avah helps Violet get the food onto the table. "This looks delicious." I smile.
"I need Remi's phone number so I can thank her for all the food. I can't cook nowhere near like her." Avah laughs.
"I'm sure you cook just fine Avah. What is one of your favorite things to make?" I ask.
"Sticky buns! Mom and I used to make them a lot when I was growing up." She smiled.
"I like sticky buns." Violet giggles.
"Of course you do munchkin." I laugh.
Violet helps Avah clean up and then goes upstairs to get ready for bed.
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"Ok just tired. This sticky bun is tired." She laughed and rubbed her belly.
"Oh, so that's what we are going to call it for the time being?" I ask.
"Sounds like a plan. Let me go help Violet and I'll be back." She said.
I nodded ok then got myself up and slowly made it to the bedroom and sit on the side of the bed.
When she came back down she laughed and walked over to me. "What's so funny?" I asked.
"Your child just said it was ok to shut the bedroom door and not lock it because she knew not to come in the room while we do naked people stuff." She laughed.
I laughed... "No, she didn't."
"I can't make this stuff up Levi." She laughs.
"As long as she doesn't know what naked people do." I laugh.
We get in bed and I turn to my side facing her. "So tell me about today Avah."
"That was a shit show. She showed up at lunchtime. I took her to the conference room with Melly and turns out she's my long lost sister Stephanie Anders.
"No way!" I said.
"Yes, way and she proceeded to tell me that she had a horrible life growing up with our mom's aunt that she was an alcoholic, and her uncle or someone a woman beater. Then she said she wanted to know how I grew up.
"Ok and what did you say?" I ask.
"Before I could respond she told me that she didn't want anything to do with me or bratty niece and nephews if I had kids she just wanted to make sure I didn't turn out better than her." She said.
"What in the hell?" I said.
"That's what I said before telling her she could leave and I would appreciate it if she would stop stalking me. Then she left." She said.
"That was very bizarre Avah," I said.
"Yeah, she tried to tell me that my name was Sally. That the aunt couldn't take both of us in. Which as you know I'm grateful because I have wonderful parents."
"Oh, I know you do who think the world of you Avah," I said.
"Wasn't long after that Melly walked me to the car in case she was still out there but she wasn't." She said.
"That was nice of Melly. But this all just doesn't make sense." I said.
"No, it doesn't Levi. I mean why spend all this time looking for me just to make sure I wasn't better than you?" She asked.
"I don't have a clue. She didn't even want a relationship." I said.
"I hope I never see her again." She sighed.
"Not to change the subject but I have a doctors appointment tomorrow do you think you can take me?" I asked.
"Sure I just have to let Melly know," I said.
"I asked Gray but he has training and can't take me," I said.
"Let me text her now and I'll go to work after." She said.
"You think I can go with you and do some exercises?" I smirk.
"If you want to." She said snuggling up closer to me.
"I love you Avah and our little sticky bun." I laugh.
She giggles into my chest. "I love you too Levi.
"I can't wait to tell everyone and find out what we are having. Do you care what it is?" I ask.
"Nah either way I'm happy. But since we have a girl maybe a boy?" She said.
That melted my heart when she said we have a girl already. She really does love Violet as a mother should.
"Serious question Avah," I said running my fingers through her hair.
"Ok what Levi?"
"Do you want to be married before the baby gets here?" I ask.
She's quiet for a few minutes then opens her mouth and closes it back before speaking. "I never thought about it Levi and I didn't get pregnant on purpose to trap you into having to marry me." She said.
"Trapping me? Avah you caught me hook line and sinker as soon as I saw you." I said.
She laughs. "You know what I mean but no I don't have any plans."
"Well, I hadn't thought about it either until right this second. It's something to think about though." I said kissing her forehead.
"Yeah, it is. I've already moved in and made myself at home. Why not." She laughs.
"Oh that reminds me. I need a key to your place. My guys finished that building and they will pack your stuff for you. I mean Gray and I will be there too." I said.
"Sounds good." She kisses my chest before we doze off to sleep.
