Four months later...

I am sitting in my truck eating my lunch thinking about my Christmas gift Avah gave me and damn it was worth the wait. She sure is something else.

Things are getting back to normal finally. I'm back at work. We started a new construction job a couple of weeks ago. Building a commercial building. Since my accident, I gave Larry the reins and I don't have to be there daily if Avah needs me to keep Alex.

She's back to work and after Johnny told all his football buddies with injuries about Avah they have been extra busy and had to hire another girl to help. Especially now since Melly is pregnant.

My dad had been coming around more and spending time with the kids and it's been great. Things have turned around since Christmas and now I think he's going to propose to Diane.

Courtney ended up getting her year in jail and she still has six months or more to go and we have restraining orders against her. She never wanted me or Violet but now she wants what Avah has. I hate she ended up this way.

My phone beeps and brings me out of deep thoughts.

📱Hey handsome! How's it going?

📱Hey babe! I'm out in my truck eating lunch thinking back about the last couple of months and that lacy thing you wore for me.😅😉

📱Is that so? What brought that on?

📱I'm not sure but I wish I had a picture of you in that.

📱That can be arranged. So your son decided he didn't want his sweet potatoes today and spit them all over the new girl.

📱Oh no! Otherwise, has he been good?

📱Yeah, he's slept a lot but now wide awake and ready to go. I think I'm going to need a babysitter or something if I keep bringing him to work.

📱We will figure it out. Don't stress about it too much. Well, I better get back in there so I can get off before Violet gets home. I love you Avah! 😍

📱I love you too Levi! Be careful ok. 🥰

I put my phone in my pocket and take a swig of my Gatorade before heading back inside the building.

Later that evening Avah was helping Violet with homework and I was playing with Alex when Gray walked over with a big pot of spaghetti.

"Dinner is served." Gray laughed.

"Thanks, Gray I haven't got to dinner yet. We have been stuck on this homework." Avah said.

When Alex saw Gray he giggled and pointed. "Hey, little man!" Gray waved at him.

I look back at Alex and he is smiling watching Gray. I've never been so happy to see that Alex did end up with Avah's blue eyes. Girls are going to melt at his feet when he gets older.

Once everyone is in bed I join Avah in the bathroom to brush my teeth. She's quiet and not saying anything. "Hey, you ok?" I ask her.

"Yeah, I'm good." She said walking into the bedroom and cutting the baby monitor on. Since Alex is older he is downstairs in his room asleep in his crib.

We get in bed and she turns her back to me. I'm trying to figure out if I have done something wrong. "Avah what's wrong?" I ask again.

"Nothing is wrong Levi." She sniffs.

"Something is wrong with you sniffing why are you crying?" I ask turning to her and snuggling up against her.

"Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed and like I don't have enough time to give to everyone and then all I can think about is wanting another baby." She said.

"You want another baby with me?" I ask.

"Of course I do. You are a wonderful father and I feel like I want one more." She said turning over.

"Then let's get started right now." I laugh.

"There is no need Levi... I think I am already pregnant." She said.

"What? How do you know?" I ask.

"My boobs hurt and I feel a little sick.." She said.

"Well do we have a spare test? Let's see." I said jumping out of bed.

Avah giggles and follows me into the bathroom. She gets the test out of the drawer and pees on the stick and we sit on the end of the bed and wait.

That was the longest three minutes of my life. I watch as she gets up and goes into the bathroom and the silence is killing me. "Well?" I ask.

She walks back out and sits beside me. "Well, Levi it looks like your going to be a daddy again." She laughs.

"Here we go again. But I love every minute of it just like I love you. Avah it was meant for me to fall down that ladder just to get to you. My life was incomplete until you stepped into it and gave me Alex."

"Our souls were always meant to be entwined, Levi." She smiled and kissed my lips over and over again.
