I have been by Avah's side for three days now. Dr. Von said she should be waking up today.
Gray told Jay and he wanted me to text him updates and that he wouldn't tell Jody since she just started her new chemo meds.
Turns out that the tapes showed it was Courtney and she's sitting in county jail. She's facing a year in jail and fines up to twenty thousand dollars but she deserves that and more.
I'm sitting here holding Avah's hand hoping she wakes up soon. I need her and I miss her sweet laugh and her beautiful eyes.
Gray walks in with some food. "I thought you could use something to eat little brother. How is she?" He asks.
"Supposed to wake up today Dr. Von said," I said taking the bag from him.
"I bought me some food too Levi." Gray laughs.
"Well, how was I supposed to know? How's my baby girl? I know she's asking what's wrong."
"She's smart Levi and cried so I told her Avah was in the hospital she was in a car accident and now she's ok." He said.
"Thank you for stepping in for me. I don't know why I thought she would be ok not knowing."
"Levi?"
"Avah baby you're awake." I smile at her and grab her hand.
"What happened? Is the baby ok?" She asked.
"The baby is fine," I said kissing her forehead.
"I'll go get the nurse and let you two talk," Gray said.
"You were in a car accident baby. Courtney rammed you as soon as you passed the apartment and Hunter helped you." I said.
"I don't remember." She said.
"Courtney is in jail right now and Hunter had your phone and purse and he called me and picked me up," I said.
"Where is Violet? Is she ok?" Avah asked.
"She's fine she's at Gray's house," I said.
"What about my mom?" She asked.
"Your mom doesn't know. We were afraid to tell her but your dad knows and I've been in contact with him." I said.
"Thank you for thinking of my mom Levi." She started to cry.
"Don't cry baby it's all going to be ok," I said as the nurse came in.
"How are you feeling Ms. Jax?" The nurse asked.
"I just have a headache is all." She said.
"Well, the doctor will be in shortly to speak with you." She said.
"Thank you," Avah said looking over at me. I squeeze her hand smiling at her. "I'm so happy your awake I was so worried Avah."
"I'm sorry Levi." She said pulling me down for a kiss when Dr. Von walks in.
"Well, I can see you are feeling better Ms. Jax." He smiled.
"Just a headache." She giggles.
"Nice to meet you I'm Dr. Von. You came in with swelling on the brain from how hard you hit the steering wheel. But the body is amazing with how it can recover when you rest." He smiled.
"When can I go home?" She asked.
"If all goes well we will release you tomorrow." He said.
"Can she eat normal food doc?" Gray asked.
"Sure that will be fine." Dr. Von said.
Gray smiles over at Avah. "What would you like?"
"Whatever Remi made and some cookies please." She smiled.
"Alright, I'll be back in a little bit." He said.
"I'll have the nurse bring you in some pain meds if you need them." Dr. Von said before walking out.
"I don't need any pain pills, Levi. I'm just glad to be awake. I also need to thank Hunter for helping me." She said.
"Once your home and settled I'll invite him over ok?" I said and looked up as the door opened and there is a smiling Hunter holding flowers.
"Well guess we don't have to call you Hunter." Avah laughed.
"I didn't know you were awake but I'm so glad. I brought you some flowers." He smiled.
Avah smiled and thanked him and squeezed his hand. "Thank you for helping me and staying with me."
"You're more than welcome. I was scared out of my mind when you passed out." He said.
"But I'm ok and the baby is ok and I will be forever grateful for all you did Hunter." She said.
"We really do appreciate it, Hunter," I said.
Gray walked back in with food and Violet. We all smiled big when we saw Violet.
Her eyes were filled with tears and she runs over to the bed. "Avah I missed you."
"I missed you too sweet pea." Avah smiled.
"I missed you too daddy." She said wrapping her arms around my neck and sit on my leg.
"I missed you too munchkin but I had to stay with Avah. You understand right?" I asked her.
"Of course I did. When are you both coming home?" She asked.
"Tomorrow if Avah is still doing good." I smiled at her and kissed her head.
We laughed and talked for an hour or so before Gray took Violet and left. I pulled my chair close to her bed and linked our fingers together.
She took her other hand and run it through my hair. "Levi you really need to lay down. I know your hip is hurting."
"I'm ok as long as you are ok," I said.
"Come get in bed with me and rest your hip. They aren't going to say anything and if they do then I'll tell them where to go." She smiled.
I gently crawled up in the bed with her. "Thanks, babe I did need to lay down but I would have continued to sit there for as long as needed for you to wake up," I said.
"I love you, Levi." She said kissing my lips.
"I love you more Avah. Can you even remember your mom's appointment?" I ask.
"Yes he was so nice and put her on some meds and going to start treatment and then surgery if need be," she said
"Good I'm glad. We will take care of it. Now get some sleep baby." I said kissing her again.
