I saw Avah walking back out of the house smiling. "Dad she's fine! She has a headache and she promised." Avah said.
"I'm sorry but she makes me nervous," Jay said.
"It's ok we are going to get going so he can lay down. Call if you need me." She said buckling her seatbelt.
"Bye Jay!" I waved as we pulled out.
"How are you feeling Levi?" She asked.
"I'm ok right now it's nice getting out and getting to talk to people. Your dad is a nice guy." I said.
"He loves working on his old cars. When you're up to it you will have to walk inside his garage." She smiled.
"Oh, he told me about it. I can't wait to get a look at those cars." I smiled.
Once back to the house she helped me inside and stretched out my leg and got my pain meds before I laid down.
"Will you lay with me and take a nap?" I ask her.
"You twisted my arm, Levi. But yes I will." She laughed.
She crawled in bed beside me and scooted close to me and placed her head in the crook of my neck. "This is nice I love you being close to me," I said.
She looked up at me. "Levi have you ever met someone and felt like you have known them your whole life?"
"Not until now," I smirked reaching out to touch her face.
She leaned up and kissed me. lingering on my lips then smiled up at me.
I rubbed my thumb across her bottom lip and pulled her close for another kiss or two then wrapped my arm around her and we both fell asleep.
We woke up around 2 pm and had an hour to kill before Violet got home. We could do a lot in an hour but I don't want to push her.
"How are you feeling? She asked.
"Sore but tolerable." I smile grabbing her hand and linking our fingers together.
"Good to hear. I guess I need to head home." She said.
"What? no way Violet would be upset she missed you. Stay the night we will order in and watch movies." I made a sad face.
"I don't want to overstay my welcome or have Violet think I'm taking you away." She said.
"She won't... Hell, she wants you here." I said.
"And you don't?" She asked.
"You know I do. I want you here all the time if I had my way." I smile at her.
She leans over and kisses me when we hear the front door open. "Daddy I'm home," Violet said rushing into the room and when she saw Avah she smiled so big.
"You come to stay the night?" Violet asked.
Gray walked in and smile. "Guess I have my answer for tonight."
"Yeah, we are going to order in and make it a movie night," I said.
"You guys have fun! Bye Avah." He laughed.
"I need to run home and get some clean clothes and stuff," Avah said.
"Ohhh can I go with you?" Violet asked.
"Sure if your daddy says it's ok," Avah said.
"It's fine munchkin but you mind Avah ok?" I said.
"Of course daddy! I'm excited I get to ride in her cute car." She ran upstairs to take her book bag to her room.
"You sure you don't mind her going?" I asked.
"No it's fine and I'll pick us up some food and I'll be back soon." She said leaning down to kiss me right as Violet walked into the room.
Her little face was wide with a smile like she couldn't be happier and I'm glad to know she's ok with this because if she wouldn't I may would need to take a step back.
"I'm ready Avah." She smiled.
"Ok let's get going. We will be back soon and please try to lay here and rest." She said.
"I will I promise," I said as I watched them walk out the door.
I must have slept for a while when Gray walked back over with some cookies. "Where are the girls?"
"Avah and Violet went to her place to grab some clothes and then some food," I said.
"So she likes Avah she talked about her all the way to school," Gray said.
"The feelings are mutual. She's going to stay the night. I wish we could you know but can't with my hip." I said.
"Levi come on you can find a way if you really want her. Remember when you walked in on Remi and me at the counter? Couldn't you do that? You wouldn't need to bend or move much make her do the work." He said.
I smirk... "That could work but not with Violet's home."
"Let me know when she can stay the night. Oh brought you some cookies Remi wanted you guys to have more. Said you come by earlier and she was driving your truck?" He asked.
"Yeah I wanted out of the house and we stopped there," I said.
"I'm glad to see you with someone and actually be happy," Gray said.
"I'm falling hard Gray and I can't stop. I like her a lot." I said.
"I know and I can tell she likes you too. well, I'm going to head home to my woman. Nite Levi." He said.
"Nite Gray!" I smiled as he left and turned on my side waiting on my girls to come back. Wow, I really like the sound of that.
I hope Violet is being good for Avah but she's always a good kid. Avah is good for both of us. That makes me smile.
My phone vibrates so I pick it up and see a text from Avah.
📱Leaving my apartment now. Going to pick up Chinese. Be back soon.😘
📱Sounds good I'm still laying down. Be careful. 😘
I like that she lets me know where she is and that she's ok. I don't like this stalker thing she's got going on.
I count the minutes until they return.
