We got all of Avah's stuff situated a few days ago and today is the big bbq with the family. I'm not nervous at all for them to meet Avah.
She walks into the room and I'm sitting on the side of the bed. "So what to wear today Levi?" She asks.
"Anything you want. Leggings are your go-to." I laugh.
"It's comfy. Is that what you want to wear?" She asked.
"Please I have some red and black pants in the drawer and a black v neck shirt in the other drawer," I said.
She gets my clothes and socks and underwear and she puts my socks on me. "Thanks, babe I can't reach yet." I smile.
"No problem I'm going to grab some clothes now." She said walking into the closet.
She walks back out and she has on a pair of black leggings and a long peach color shirt. "You look beautiful Avah." I look up at her and she has on peach eyeshadow with a cute little bandana thing in her hair with little makeup.
"Thank you. Are you sure it's not too much?" She said.
"No, it looks perfect," I said pulling her in for a kiss.
Violet comes running in! "Daddy grandpa is here along with Diane and also grandma Jody is here." She smiled.
It caught me off guard she called Judy grandma but it's ok with me. I look over at Avah and she's smiling from ear to ear. "We will be right there munchkin," I said.
Violet runs off and Avah looks at me. Did you hear her call my mom grandma?" She smiled.
"I did and it doesn't bother me and I bet your mom loves it." I laugh.
"Wait until she finds out about sticky bun." She whispers.
"She will be ecstatic. Ohh I need to talk to Gray about that doctor. He was supposed to found out yesterday." I said.
"I hope it's good news." She smiled as we walked out on the porch.
All of our family is down in the sand around a big table as Gray is using the grill. Avah helps me down in the sand and my dad walks over smiling.
"Hey, son! You look so much better." He smiles.
"It's all thanks to this one right here." I smile. "Dad this is Avah, my girlfriend. Avah this is my dad Davis." I said.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Reece." She said.
"Just call me Davis and this here is my girlfriend Diane." He said.
"Nice to meet you, Diane!" Avah said.
"Pleasure is all mine. Remi has told me so much about you and your parents are lovely." Diane said.
I looked over at Violet and she's got her arm around Judy's neck and Judy is sugaring her with kisses. It melts my heart that this woman loves my child.
Avah helps me to sit down and we speak to everyone. I watch Avah walk over talking to Remi to see if she needs help with anything.
Dad sits down beside me. "She's a pretty girl Levi." He said.
"She has my heart dad. From the first time, I saw her and she loves Violet as if she's her own kid and look at Violet over there with Judy. She loves her." I said.
"I can see that son and I'm happy for you," Dad said.
"Thanks, dad I appreciate that," I said watching Avah laugh and help Remi and Gray with food.
We all sit down to eat and Jay leads us in prayer and I squeeze Avahs hand under the table.
We all eat and laugh and watch the kids all flock around Judy like she is a magnet. Diane is watching but she has never been close to Violet.
"My mom is eating this up. Do you think we should tell them about sticky bun or wait?" I mean it is early." She said.
"I'm not sure you aren't that far along plus we should tell Violet first," I said.
"Your right we will wait then." She smiled.
Gray walked over and sit beside Avah. "Sorry I had to work late but Josh's dad got it all worked out. We have the appointment so whenever you want to tell her it's next week." He smiled.
"Next week?" Avah asked.
"Yeah, Dr. Bright said he would be willing to see her." Gray smiled.
"Oh, Gray that's awesome thank you so much. I'll go talk to her now." Avah said.
"Here is the info I'll send it to your phone Avah. And your most welcome." He smiled.
Avah got up and went over to her mom and I watched as she talked and wiped her eyes and her mom had her hands over her mouth and turned to look and Gray and me.
"Thank you, boys, so much. You don't know how much this means to me." Judy said with her hand over her heart.
"Your welcome Judy. We want you around for a long time." I smile.
She gets up and walks over to us and kisses us both on the cheek and she hugs us. "Thank you again." She smiled.
Jay looked confused until she sits back down and told him and he cried like a baby. Avah jumped up and went hugged her dad. Then she walked over and put her arms around Gray and me. "Thank you for helping my family guys. We have no words."
I look at Avah and wink. "You can thank me later." I laugh.
"Alright, I'm out of here." Gray laughed getting up and going over to Remi.
The rest of the evening went off without a hitch. Dad and Jay and Wyatt talked a lot while Diane and Judy and Ruth had their hands full with the kids.
Remi and Gray sit with us and talked a while. Remi said Hunter loved his new pad. We all laughed because who says pad anymore.
Once everyone left I couldn't wait to go in and lay down and wrap my arms around Avah.
