We arrive at the doctor's office and walk-in and I sign her in. We sit down and wait for what seems like forever.
A smiley nurse calls us back and explains that she needs to take some blood and that Dr. Bright would be in soon.
Once she leaves the room we sit and wait until finally, Dr. Bright comes in holding my mom's charts.
"Good morning Mrs. Jax I have been looking over your chart and it looks like I can help you. We need to get you on new meds and some treatments but for sure we can get you in the right direction. Then we will pursue surgery." He said.
"Thank you so much for all of your help Doctor Bright. I have been so sick and thought I was at the end. My baby here is pregnant and recently engaged and I really want to be around for both of those things." Mom smiled.
"I will do all that I can do to help you, Mrs. Jax. Just follow my orders and we will have you up on the mend. I won't lie the treatment may be rough but it will be worth it." He said.
He wrote a few prescriptions for her and set up her first round of treatment. We headed out to the car and mom sighs.
"What's wrong mom?" I asked.
"I'm just nervous about these treatments and I hate to get my hopes up but I really want them to work this time." She said.
We stopped by cookie grounds for a few cookies and to talk to Remi. I told mom to grab a table and I went to order.
"Hey, Avah how are you?" Remi smiled.
"I'm great just came from that doctor's appointment and she will be starting treatment soon." I smile.
"Oh, that's wonderful," Remi said.
"So we came for cookies and slushies and wedding talk if you have time." I smile.
"Oh you know I always have time for that." Remi laughs.
I see Hunter and smile at him. "How's the apartment?" I ask.
"Oh, Avah I love it. Thank you for leaving me all of your stuff." He laughs.
"Your welcome!" I smile as Remi walks over with slushies and cookies.
"So I want to get this wedding going. Levi wants us to be married before the baby gets here." I said.
"Do you have colors picked out?" Remi asked.
"Beachy colors and theme. I know you guys had a beach wedding and that's what I want." I said.
"Oh, this makes me excited! I did the cooking myself and Diane and my mom helped with everything. I'm sure we can pull it all together." Remi smiles.
"I don't want to put all of that on you Remi. I'm sure Melly can help. That's my best friend." I said.
"Let's take a day and spend together and I'll make our food and we can figure it out. If you find anything you like take a pic or save it." She smiled.
"Thanks so much, Remi I appreciate it so much. I know that Violet will want to help." I laugh.
"Oh, you know it." Remi laughs
"I don't want to rush this but I want to get it going before I get bigger," I said.
"Avah honey why don't you go with your favorite color purple." Mom said.
"Yeah, purple would be pretty on the beach with a little greenery," Remi said.
"Could I use your kids for flower girls and a ring barrier?" I ask Remi.
"Of course you can." Remi smiles.
"Maybe you and Melly bridesmaids? and Violet my maid of honor?" I ask.
"Oh Violet would love that and I would be delighted." Remi smiles.
"We need to find you a dress and get tux's for the men honey." Mom said.
"Maybe we can throw it all together in a month? I want Levi to be ok standing long enough to get through the ceremony." I said.
"I'm sure he will make a way to stand." Remi giggles.
"I'm going to get a notebook and write stuff down." I laugh.
"That's a good idea. It will all come together. Well, I got cookies to make but thanks for coming in." Remi smiles.
"Thanks, Remi! I appreciate all of your help." I said.
"Honey I think I'm ready to go and lay down." Mom said.
"Ok let's go pick up your meds and head home. Let me text Levi." I said.
📱Levi, we are leaving cookie grounds. Got to stop pick up mom's meds and take her home and then I'll be home. Love you!
📱Ok, babe be careful. Can't wait to hear about the doctor's appointment. Love you too.
We get in the car and stop picking up the meds and then I get her home. Dad meets us at the car smiling. "I want to know all about your doctor visit dear," Dad said.
"I have a lot to tell you." She smiled.
I help her into the house and kiss them both goodbye then get in my car to head back home.
I was thinking of mom's treatment and wedding planning and can't wait to tell Levi all about it. I just passed my old apartment saw Hunter and waved and that's the last thing I remember as I was plowed into by another vehicle. All I remember was seeing maroon before I passed in and out.
"OMG! Avah can you hear me?" Hunter said.
I hand him my phone because it was in my bra and said "Call 911 and Levi please."
I cry out... "My baby." before I pass out again. The next time I open my eyes I'm in an ambulance and I can hear people talking but I'm so confused I have no idea where I am.
I can hear people saying my name but I can't open my eyes and I just let the darkness take over.
