I love spending time with Alex when the house is so quiet. Violet is in school and Levi is out with Gray.
I decide to sit outside on the balcony while Alex is asleep in the bassinet. I went downstairs and grabbed some lemonade before walking back up and sit down.
My phone rang and I saw it was my mom.
📞Hey momma!
📞Hey Avah! Your father and I want to come see Alex is now a good time?
📞Of course! Come on it's just me and Alex.
📞Ok, see you soon.
I pick Alex up out of the bassinet and we head downstairs and put him in his bed and walk to the kitchen to clean up a little bit.
It isn't long until there is a knock at the door. I walk over and over it and smile when I see my momma.
She embraces me in a big hug and there is nothing like your mother's hugs.
"Where is my baby?" She asks.
"He's asleep in his bed but let me go get him for you. Go on into the live room and check out my tree.
I go get Alex and bring him to the living room. "Oh, your tree looks beautiful Avah." Mom said.
"Thanks, Gray and Levi went and got it and Remi and Melly got the decorations for us. But we decorated it just as a family last night. Levi helped Alex put his first ornament on the tree." I smiled.
"We need a tree like that Jody." Dad smiled.
"Well, Levi and Gray can hook you up dad," I said just as they walked in the door.
"There is my favorite in-laws!" Levi said.
"We were just talking about you guys. Dad wants a tree like that." I said.
"We sure can get you one Jay if you want it," Levi said walking over kissing me on the side of the head.
"And Remi will get you any decorations you want momma. I'm moving slow and couldn't shop." I said.
"Avah I have so many decorations and most things you made growing up. You know I kept it all." She smiled.
Alex woke up screaming and I figured he was hungry. I had pumped earlier so I went got a bottle out of the fridge and handed it to mom. She was smiling she loves doting over these kids.
Gray showed me a pic of what he ordered and I thought it was so pretty. "I gotta get going and pick up the kids. I hope you guys are here when I return because Ruthie has been talking about you, Jody." Gray said.
"Oh, we can wait we have nowhere to be dear." Mom smiled at Gray.
"Violet will be excited to see you all as well," Levi said.
"How is she liking the baby?" Jay asked.
"Oh she loves holding him but he makes her arm tired." I laugh.
"We find her in his room singing to him sometimes or when she holds him she sings twinkle twinkle to him," Levi said.
"She's such a great big sister already." Mom said.
My phone beeped.
📱Gray told me your parents are there. Tell them to stick around I'm making a big dinner and they can take leftovers.
📱Sounds good we will be waiting with open mouths. 😆

"So looks like Remi is making dinner and said for you guys not to leave she wants you to take some home," I said.
"That girl is too sweet!" Mom said.
"I told her we would be waiting with open mouths." I giggle.
Mom burps Alex and hands him over to dad to hold him. Levi walks up behind me hugging me.
"Why don't you take your mom upstairs and sit on the balcony and us guys can watch the baby." He said.
"Sounds good to me. Mom come upstairs I want you to see what Levi did to our bedroom and see Violet's new room." I said.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." She smiled standing up. I took her to Violet's room and then to our room which she loved. I took her to the balcony and sit in the rockers.
"These rockers brought you guys together." Mom smiled and reach for my hand.
"I guess we could say this view did as well. Isn't it beautiful out here?" I ask her.
"It sure is. I would sit here so much Avah." She laughed.
"Oh, I do every chance I get. This is where I was when you called." I laughed.
"Levi and Gray were out today?" Momma asked.
"Oh yeah to pick out Remi a mother's ring for Christmas. Gray wanted my opinion on which one she would like but Levi went with him and I enjoyed my time home alone with Alex." I said.
"He's such a beautiful baby Avah. He's the spitting image of Levi that's for sure." She laughed.
"Levi keeps saying he hopes Alex has my eyes." I laugh.
"You know he's your baby either way." She laughs patting my hand.
We could hear rustling running up the steps and I turn and see Violet and Ruthie making a beeline to my mom.
"Well hey, girls." I laugh.
"Hi, mommy!" Violet said hugging Mom tight and Ruthie getting on her lap.
It makes my heart happy to see how much these girls love my mom. I'm so thankful for all that Levi and Gray have done to help her get another doctor and get her life back.
A little while later Levi walks up to get us saying Remi is here with a big pot of spaghetti.
"Yay spaghetti!" Violet giggled and Ruthie jumped up.
"I think it's time to eat momma." I laugh.
"I believe your right. I'll head on down." She smiles.
Levi walks out on the balcony and grabs me and places a kiss on my lips. "I love you Avah." He said.
"I love you too Levi. Now let's go get some spaghetti." I smile.
