I'm a nervous wreck waiting on Avah to get here. I finally see my truck pull up and Avah's car pulls up beside it.
She gets out grabs a bag and walks fast up to the porch. I manage to stand up and she runs into my arms.
I squeeze her tight and pull her in. "God I'm glad you're ok," I said.
"I'm thankful that Gray came and met me. It's weird and I'm just wondering if it's my real sister. I mean I've never met her and I don't know what she looks like." She said.
"You're staying here with me from now on. No excuses." I said pulling her in for a kiss.
I don't care if Gray sees us or not. Hell, he should already know how I feel about her.
Gray walks up and smiles when he sees us in an embrace. "I'm going to head back home but let me know if you guys need anything."
"Thanks again Gray for helping me out," Avah said.
"No problem ohh and Violet can stay the night if you need Levi. Let me know." He said.
"Thanks, I will," I said as we head into the house.
"She didn't do anything so I don't know why I got spooked but she must have been watching me to follow me home," I said.
"When you said you thought someone was watching you it had to be her," I said.
"It really freaks me out, Levi." She sighs.
I sit down at the island and pull her in close. "You will be fine here and we will figure it out."
"I don't like being a damsel in distress. That's not who I am but I need you, Levi." She said kissing my lips.
"I need you to Avah. I didn't plan to tell you this way but I have strong feelings for you." I said.
"I feel the same way about you too Levi." She smiles and kisses me again.
I kiss her again. "Can we go lay down and watch some tv? I ask.
"Let's go then, slowpoke." She laughs.
Boy, I love to hear her laugh. We get comfy in the bed and it isn't long before I hear her lightly snoring.
My phone beeps and I pick it up and see it's Levi.
📱Hey, Remi made spaghetti for you guys.
📱Sounds good bro. Bring it in and put it in the fridge for me. Avah is asleep on me and I don't want to move.
📱Alright, I can do that. It's nice to see you, happy little brother.

I put my phone on the bedside table and kiss the top of Avah's head.
I hear Gray come in and put something in the fridge. He comes to the bedroom door and smiles then whispers that Violet is staying the night.
I give him a thumbs up and he turns around and leaves. Thinking of that spaghetti I'm hungry but I'll wait until Avah wakes up.
An hour later she stretches and looks at me. "Hi." She smiles.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" I ask.
"Refreshed but hungry." She laughs.
"Well, then you will be happy to know that Remi made spaghetti and Gray brought it over," I said.
"Oh, goodie let's go eat then. Wait where is Violet?" She asked.
"She's staying the night over at Grays. He thought we could use the time alone." I said.
"Oh no if Violet wants to come home I'm fine with that Levi. I don't want her to feel like she's being pushed out." She said.
"She's fine I promise," I said standing up grabbing my walker on my own, and take a step.
"Oh, Levi you are getting up so much easier now. Still very painful?" She asked.
"A bit but I'm ok. Let's eat." I smile at her.
She gets the spaghetti out of the fridge and heats it up and sits next to me and we dig in.
"Omg, this is so good. Remi is such an amazing cook. I think maybe I need to exercise or something after eating all this stuff." She laughs.
"She is an amazing cook she feeds us all the time. I tried to give her money but she wouldn't take it." I said.
"Oh is that my phone ringing?" She said running to the bedroom. She walks back out with a look on her face.
"Hmm, unknown caller, and when I said hello they just breathed. Maybe that woman has my number now." She said.
"We will figure out who she is. We need to figure out your parent's names and look up the accident and maybe we can find your sister's name." I said.
"I don't want to fool with it tonight." She said picking up our dishes and taking them to the sink and rinsing them off.
I let it go and just watched her put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. She's quiet and I can't figure out what's going on.
"Avah are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm just thinking about things. I've never been interested in who I was before my parents adopted me." She said.
"You have a great family Avah and if that is your sister it's up to you if you want anything to do with her," I said.
"I know thank you I'm just overwhelmed I guess. Can we just get ready for bed?" She asks.
"Of course baby let's head to the bed," I said getting up and following her to the bed with my walker.
Once we get in bed she cuddles up next to me. "I'm sorry if I was snappy with you. I'm so undecided about everything going on. But it has nothing to do with us." She smiled leaning up to kiss me.
I pull her close and kiss her passionately. "I'm so glad you are here with me Avah."
"I'm glad to be with you Levi. In your arms, I feel safe." She said snuggling closer to me.
I kiss her again and cut out the lamp and drift off to sleep.
