TRIGGER WARNING: mentions of depression. please please do not read if you DONT want to. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.

here i am, waking, still can't sleep by your side, theirs your coffee cup, lipstick stain fades with times. if i can dream long, you'll tell me i'll be just fine.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said to the phone, feeling my eyes heat up. "She's moved on?" I heard my voice cracked. Y/n divorced me after 15 years of being married. She told me, she didn't love me anymore. I promised her that I would be happy if she moves on, but I feel like complete shit right now. "Oh, that's nice." I sigh.

"I gotta go, pick up my kids. I'll see you later." I hung up and went upstairs to get dressed.

It's been almost a year and I still haven't gotten over it. Maybe, I should, but I can't when my whole heart is missing, she has it. She will always have it.

I walked to the kitchen to grab water and I see her cup. I kept it there, only thing I have. The lipstick stain is still there but it's faded. I should probably throw it away.

I grabbed my keys and drove to y/n's house.

I waited outside and the door opened. She looks happier, she was glowing. How did i not see her being unhappy with me?

I got out and Diego and Cameron run to me. "Dad!" They yelled. I kneeled down and hugged him. "Wow, you guys are growing up so fast. 8 and 7." I smile. "Get inside. We'll get ice cream and a movie to watch later."

They got in and I see y/n walking over to me, "Hi, alejandro." She smiles. "Hey. Congrats on the promotion. Kairi told me." She sighs, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you or-"

"No, it's fine. Who would want their stupid ex husband to be there?" I forced a laugh. "Alejandro, if there's anything I can do-"

"No, I'm fine. I'm okay. Don't worry about. Worry about your new life. I get it, at least you kept the ring." She looks down, "About that.." I stared at her intensely, "I threw it when me and micheal were at the canyon. I'm sorry I know I promised-"

"We all promised something. It's whatever, it's a stupid ring anyway. Have a good day. See you later." I walked away before she can say anything.

Y/n's pov

I see alejandro pull up at our house, I called the kids and told them he was here. They rushed downstairs with their things and run to him. The smile his face had when he saw them. "I'll be back." I said to micheal. He nods his head and goes upstairs to finish his paperwork.

"Hi, alejandro." I smile. He looks.. broken. "Hey, congrats on the promotion. Kairi told me." Shit, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you or-"

"No, it's fine. Who would want their stupid ex husband to be there?" He laughs, I felt so guilty. I know I'm not with him anymore but I could've at least told him. He was a big part of me. "Alejandro, if there's anything I can do-" he holds his hand out.

"No, I'm fine. I'm okay. Don't worry about me. Worry about your new life, I get it, at least you kept the ring." He says. I look down, "About that.. I threw it when me and micheal went to the canyon. I'm sorry, I know I promised-"

"We all promised something. It's whatever, it's a stupid ring anyways. Have a good day, see you later." He walks away before I say anything. I waved at them as they drove away. It's a stupid ring, it was our ring.
