Chapter Forty
____________

"Gemma?" I gasped, utterly confused. A bright smile rested on her strawberry lips and her green eyes beamed with something I couldn't decipher, but she was clearly excited about something.

"You're here early?" My father mentioned, also confused but not for the same reason as me. He knew Harry wasn't showing up?

"I am?" She asked, bringing her wrist up and looking over her small, black watch. "I guess I didn't notice!"

"Aw, it's okay," my mother laughed, waving her off. "I think we're just about ready to leave, anyways. Bist du bereit, Schatz?"

"Yes! Just let me grab a few more things then we'll be on our way." My father responded, patting his pockets before he walked back up the stairs.

"Let me go up there with him because if I don't, we'll miss our flight." My mother stated with a light smile on her face before retracing my fathers path, leaving Gemma and I alone.

I awkwardly looked at the walls instead of gazing into her eyes that reminded me of her brothers. This whole situation is confusing and I rather not ask questions at this point because it seems that nobody likes to be open and explain things to me.

I'm always left out or lost about things that are happening directly in front of me— and it's not like these things are easy to find out because they aren't. I don't know where my father and mother are going, I don't know where Harry is, I don't know why his sister is here instead of him when she has a whole wedding to plan— everything is all over the place.

"You don't have to be so quiet, you know?" Gemma spoke up, making me look her way. "I know everything seems out of place right now, but once your parents leave it'll make a lot more sense."

So, it takes for my parents to leave for me to get some answers? Because apparently, my father knows about what ever they have hidden up their sleeves, so why can't she tell me now?

"Where is Harry?" I pressed, finding myself unable to keep the question from escaping my lips. Harry's presence was my main concern.

"He's—"

"Alright!" My mother shouted as she stepped down the stairs, covering her feet in a pair of red pumps and a elegant black dress with a designer belt wrapped around her torso. You'd think she was going on a date... not a flight. "We'll be heading out now!"

My father followed closely behind, holding two luggage's in each hand. I knew three out of four of those bags were my mothers because she's always packing unnecessary things with her. Especially when we go to Germany.

She has this thing where she likes to show off her expensive items to our cousins or even her sisters, which causes conflict because my mother tends to act as if she's better than her own family although they all are practically in the medical field.
