Chapter Thirty Eight
_________________"Now... what we're going to talk about is the world. The world has been changing in drastic ways due to gun violence, poverty, water pollution, false leading acts— you name it. Us, as humble and pure citizens have one particular job and that's to help the ones in need or find a way to make society better."
The Styles' church obviously wasn't your typical church, but in good ways. Pastor Styles made it clear that he didn't want his church to be like everyone else's around Seattle, and that's what created his fame, I guess you'd call it.
He loved to find ways to help the world become a place where people are happy and satisfied with the way they're living, which is not a common thing in the generation we're in. A lot of our people are getting addicted to drugs and alcohol, businesses aren't doing the best, teenagers are getting thrown to the streets left and right— there are big issues happening.
My mother and father normally contributes to the funding parts of it the most because their schedules are never clear for them to spend the afternoons giving food to the homeless, which I sometimes did before Harry came around so it wasn't that much of a problem.
Pastor styles has helped over a thousand people in the past year to get back on their feet. He's known for putting in a lot of work and providing tons of help to bring hope and positivity to our community and that's beyond great.
"What do you guys believe we can do to make things better?" Pastor Styles asked us in the crowd, taking a seat on his chair and colliding his hands together.
"Well," A woman started to speak, standing up from the bench. "This is a bit off topic but you know how we've been helping the needy and providing them with proper shelter and food? Well, I think this time around we should focus more on the adults and children instead of... the teens."
"And why is that?" He asked curiously, tilting his head to the side and frowning his thick eyebrows.
"A lot of the teens these days seem to put themselves in the predicament that they're in by going to the wild parties and getting drunk and disobeying their parents' rules. At some point, we get tired of repeating ourselves and feel that there's no longer a point in raising the child if they don't want to be raised."
Harry's head turned around to face me and he shook his head while rolling his eyes before focusing back on his father. I held in my laugh by biting down on my lip because I just knew Harry was either going to say something or react in a physical way.
"Okay, that makes sense... but we can't automatically assume that the teen has put themselves in that situation, Reen." Pastor styles responded. "Some kids really don't have a particular reason for being homeless... it just happens."
